I lived fifteen metres away from here for two years and loved the place. Now I live a couple of tube stops I still make my way there if I’m ever shopping nearby(or I’m at a show). Too busy when the non-Stratford brigades descend for show nights, but just the most inclusive, welcoming and interesting places you’ll find. A true theatre bar(witness the historic pictures on the walls), it lives on its atmosphere which is warm and(when the DJs are on) interesting. Friday and Saturday nights see people of all shapes and sizes dancing and smiling. Other nights emphasise comedy or music. Well priced drinks and amazing Carribbean food. Go there. Or don’t(which keeps it relaxing for the locals).

Was in the bar on St Patrick’s day. Great live singer quietly crooning in the background. Bar staff were pleasant and engaging. Spacious inside and outside seating. Was with a group of colleagues from outside London who ordered lunch while I went to see where we might watch rugby. When I got back to a person they commented on how good the food was and how substantial the portions were. Drinks are reasonably priced too. I drink in the bar off and on and find it a nice, cultured place to have a pleasant drink, particularly great for sitting outside in the summer. I would definitely recommend this bar particularly if anyone is over for the Olympics or the Westfield shopping each of which is within a 15 minutes stroll.

One of the best bars in Stratford. Part of the Theatre. Good service, friendly staff and a good mixed crowd when I’ve been. Food also served, but I’ve not tried. Not dissimilar to ‘The Fox’ but more chilled. Sometimes have a DJ in the evenings with interesting music. Highly recommended.
