Tidy Hair

I went to this salon as it is my local, it was Sunday and I was too lazy to go to HOBs salon in Camden. I have never been to hairdressers where they did not ask me whether I wanted my hair cut with clippers or scissors. I always thought everybody used scissors. Wrong. I explained the lady I wanted longer on the top and short sides and she told me she was going to leave it a bit longer so we can work on it. As usual I expected my hair to be washed. No, this is a different kind of place. The next thing she had clippers in her hand and she ran them from my forehead right over my head to my neck. I was stunned and speechless. I asked her what she was doing. She said you wanted number two and you got it. I asked her if she could use scissors but it was pointless. She was ready for an argument and I decided to keep calm as it was too late for anything. I have been to the army but I have never seen anybody using clippers and starting a haircut from the middle of my head. Needless to say she just went around my head and cut it all off. I kept telling myself to calm down as it was too late and the hair was going to grow anyway. I did not have any choice after a strip was cut right across my head. A part of the clippers kept falling off and I have few bold patches on the top of my head. People ask me if I had actually paid for the haircut. I went back to ask her to cut my hair a little bit shorter around my ears so that at least there was some sort of styling there. I was actually kidding myself as there was no shape and no style whatsoever. She did it but I could tell she was not happy as I left the salon without her saying goodbye. How she thought she was going to work on it when there was no hair left. I asked her to shape it at the back of my head but I can not even describe what it looks like. It is hideous. This place is something else. I never had my hair washed before the haircut. An apron was filthy. My friends told me I should have asked for a guy to cut my hair. It is too much of a risk. It will take me months to get my hair into shape. I could have bought clippers and do it myself if I wanted this sort of haircut. Never, ever again. Avoid at all costs. This was experience I will never forget. I just don’t believe places like this still exist.

Don’t go to tidy hair if you are a lover of being pampered… for £35 they wash your hair in a grubby basin and then towel it dry with stained towels. Your hair cut is over within about 7 seconds and the output isnt amazing. Its all terribly slap dash. I thought I would go local, purely down to sheer lazyness…
I much prefer Muku on Commercial street as for £40 they really care for you and take their time with your cut. It may be a little further out but its definitely worth the travel.
Sadly tidy hair is more of a mens barbers than a hairdressers… however actually the chap before me had a weird patch missing from the back of his head. I should have left at that point really!

Avoid this hairdressers! Was a complete frustration from start to finish When I called to book (about a week in advance), they asked me to call back as their diary had run out of pages. When I arrived on the day of my appt 5 minutes early, I greeted by a snappy/​generally annoyed Irish woman who stared at me with a look of ‘what are you doing here?!’. Then she told me that the guy I was meant to have my hair done with was not in today, then barked at me to sit on the couch while she called him. The guy did turn up, and we decided together that as I didn’t want much cut off (I am trying to grow it), that he would just do a dry cut. Well, with ’23 years’ as a hair dresser, I’m not sure why I am now needing to find another salon to put this mess right. It’s already a lot shorter than I wanted, and there are chunks missing around the front which look awful! You can also see straight lines cut across it where he has tried to do layers. Really not a satisfying experience, I won’t be rebooking. Wish I had looked up reviews before I went. The 5 star ratings on here are blatantly from the people who actually work at the salon.

Extremely underwhelming experience. Hair cut was fine, just a basic trim, but woman that cut my hair was inattentive and I left knowing that I would not be going back. Shame.
