A friend resides close to this park, and we spent some time exploring it. The garbage cans were overflowing, and the gardens were just big grassy areas it seemed. Many dead trees, rotting or on their sides. Pass under the bridge to the otherside and not much else there, though there is a child playground area. The trees are beautiful, friends noted that one should be cautious in the evenings passing through the wooded areas, different people have different needs in a park at night, or at dusk.

Tooting Common is fugly. There is nothing peaceful or inviting about it. Usually I am a huge fan of green spaces in London, but this place is incredibly disappointing. It’s always muddy, the grass is near dead and there are two traintracks going in opposite directions in two different areas of the common. Although it isn’t as aesthetically pleasing as other parks in London, it does have great amenities. It has a running track, tennis courts and a swimming pool. If you’re a fitness nut who lives in the area, but you can’t afford to pay for a gym membership then come here to burn off those calories. This space provides great alternatives to lifting weights.
