Troy Hotel

Quite a good cost ratio. I mean, of course you wouldn’t expect a very high range of service for this pricing, but the quality is here. You got clean (though small) rooms, free WiFi, and reasonable breakfast (cereals, jams, croissant, breads, juice, etc…).
Service is friendly, the hours of the breakfasts are later on the weekend which is also convenient, I may have an issue with having to leave before 7AM on Monday and not being able to take the breakfast, but that’s an acceptable drawback.
Additionally it’s very close to Queensway on Central Line and Bayswater on the Circular lines which have very good reach to the city. Coming from City Airport however took some time, especially as I’m not very knowledgable of London!

Wir haben das Troy mit Freunden für eine Städtereise in London gebucht, preislich ist es für London ok, allerdings ist das Hotel ziemlich alt und schmuddelig. Die Zimmer wirkten auch nach der Reinigung nicht sauber. Das Frühstück war allerdings recht umfangreich und auch lecker, es gab immer frische Säfte. Das Personal allerdings im gesamten Hotel war nicht sonderlich freundlich.

Single traveler. I didn’t expect much from the hotel, except to be a clean place to spend the nights, and found the hotel up to my expectations.
Pros:
–Clean hotel
–Great location: walking distance to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations (from where you can get to all of London in 20 min or so), and also walking distance to many attractions if you are a bit of a walker!
–Good price,
–Good breakfast
Cons:
–REALLY slow WiFi (in fact, so slow that my iPhone occasionally considered the link disconnected). Some of the emails and iMessages I sent from the hotel never made it to their intended recipiets or were received hours late.
–Very squeeky floors: Floor timbers move so much when you walk on them that your neighbours may think it is an earthquake.
