Some of the best pork I have had on a sandwich. Bun, made to perfection. However, I asked for no slaw and she put a heap of it on the sand which. I also asked for just a little hot sauce and she put half of the container on there. Great food, next time I guess I should speak up louder.

Update: I walked by here recently and found that they have changed the menu and sadly there is no more lamb sandwich. They have beef though and other choices and when I try them, Unilocal will be the first to know :) On the bright side, the area has changed and with quite a few other food stalls all grouped together with an area to sit in, it is good change. The location however, is slightly different from the one on their website, it is a little confusing to find but near there.

A nice little street food vendor on Corbet place selling rolls filled with pulled pork, beef brisket or burgers. I went for the pulled pork, which was pretty good. There wasn’t as much meat as other similar offerings, but was good value for money at £4.50. It comes topped with cheese in a nice, light bun. The brisket is a little more expensive at £5 and looked really good, although I didn’t get to try it. The chips(£1.50) come lightly tossed in spices, which is a nice touch. The owner is very friendly.

3.5 but rounding up to 4 stars since the guy who owns it is super nice. We came on a Saturday night, and they only had the pulled pork left at 7pm! Although we were disappointed that we couldn’t try the beef brisket, we decided to give the Pulled Pork Sandwich(w/Cheese, Pickled Onions, Lettuce, BBQ Sauce, £4.5, ) a try. The pulled pork was really tender, but the BBQ sauce was too tangy for my liking. However, I did like the cheesiness of the sandwich, and it was a good value. I was also short on change, and the owner was nice enough to discount my soda. I wish I had ordered the chips, so don’t miss out on those if you dine here! This is definitely a casual dining spot, since Turner & Roast is a stationary food cart. They have plenty of wooden picnic tables out for seating, and you can also order food from the other carts. I would recommend Turner & Roast if you are in the area, but not travel specifically to find it(unless they have the brisket available maybe.).

Give me the pulled pork, and give it now! As a former midwestern gal hailing from the heartland of the US, I can tell you, this is definitely the best I’ve found on this side of the pond. Several other things are great: One! — A choice of barbeque sauces, that are all unique to T&R. You want mild, no prob. You want hot enough to make your eyes and nose water, they got it. Take your pick. Two! — The chips. Every great sandwich needs great chips. Specially seasoned, and heaping in size… one can’t ask for more. Three! — Location/Style. I am a huge street food fan, and this is the best I’ve had in London so far. Additionally, being permanently tucked into the Brick Lane alcove by Old Truman Brewery, it’s IDEAL for lunches. Get that? Make it happen. Four! — Service. Personable, fast, friendly, helpful, cheerful. What other words can I think of? The gent working the truck was proud of how good he knows his food to be, and ‘sells’ it while you wait. Kudos.

Having just moved to Spitalfields, my partner and I wanted to walk our new neighbourhood and see what gems we could find today. We were quite hungry, and the smells from the street vendors and food trucks were too enticing, so we wandered into the heart of them. We saw this great outdoor seating area, and next to it was a place touting roast lamb, pulled pork and lemon chicken sandwich rolls. That sounded like proper food truck food, so we jumped in line, and placed our orders. The guy working the truck was friendly and sociable, and made our rolls in a jiffy(even with having to freshly shred a full roasted chicken for mine). Rob had the lamb, with a lovely mint sauce, and I had the lemon chicken breast with BBQ sauce. Both were garnished with rocket salad, and were just the treat we needed. I will definitely go back!
