Popped in for a quick pint since the weather was nice and it’s a lovely place. It’s actually not too bright inside even on sunny days though when not too nippy would be good to be outside benches. I’ve actually been here before for a wedding reception and the upstairs floor/room is a great cosy size space with its own bar. All in all it feels like one of the more upmarket pubs in this vacant area in between Crouch End & Muswell Hill.

This bar takes me straight back to being a student. We came here after going to the fireworks at Alexandra Palace. On entering the bar it just appears as a large rectangular room with a bar along the back and seats around the outside of a wooden floor. It was reasonably busy but it still took too long to be served and the music was playing to loud to be able to have a reasonable conversation. It felt a bit strange to be stood in the middle of the room, it was like being in the middle of the dance floor. The place had no warmth and didn’t enjoy my time there, so quickly left after finishing my drink.

Visually a really nice pub and a good place to relax on a sunny day. But service leaves a lot to be desired primarily because of the cost you are paying. At the prices they charge I expected better. The service was extremely slow 2.5hrs plus for starter and main course for 1 person. The food itself was OK but really couldn’t enjoy it all too much after having to wait for so long.

The set lunch menu was excellent and really tasty, the ales were delicious and a nice little pub. Very friendly and helpful staff too.

I’ve been here a few times on Friday nights and always enjoyed it. The food is excellent — have had duck, steak and the fish and chips. It is a great gastro pub and the best I have been to in the area. It can be a bit pricey but there are some good deals on drinks after 10 and you are getting what you pay for with the food. Will be back again and would like to try out the area out back this summer.

This is a good pub, taken to the next level by a massive sheltered area outside, out back. Good all year round as they heat it. Ale choice was between 3 heavyweights, Otter Ale, Dark Star Hophead and Sambrooks Wandle(not used to being 3rd in my affections!). Surely the best pub in the area?

Just had a delicious late Sunday lunch. Nicely busy with lots of couples and young families. Service quick and very efficient. Great selection of vegetables with roast and perfectly cooked. Had my eyes on the rather tempting cheese board, but sadly the waistband wasn’t willing! Plan to call in at some point & just have cheeseboard and red wine. Hope it’s soon.

Really good little gastro pub just opposite the entrance to the Alexandra Palace park. It’s on a busy road so not really somewhere to sit outside but there is a nice bar downstairs and a dining room upstairs. The sunday menu seems to be a cut down version of the usual one. We had 2 courses for £14.95 and was really reasonable. I had home made soup for starter — very tasty leek and potato. Roast chicken for main — huge portion and very nicely cooked. Great selection of wine and cocktails — you can even have a champagne breakfast if you fancy it. Place seems to be run by gang of friends — lots of lads in their 20s. Service is good and quick. Clientele are mix of couples, friends of the bar staff and families — families seem to favour upstairs. Good value and good food. Perfectly placed to wander through the park where there is a farmers market on a Sunday.

Good pub at foot of Muswell Hill, decent food and range of beer/wine, if a bit overpriced sometimes. The place has had the standard gastropub treatment but its slightly out of the way location gives it a more laid back, local atmosphere than might be the case if it were closer to the main buzz of Crouch End or Muswell Hill Broadways(it’s about ten minutes walk from both). You can eat in the bar area, beer garden or there’s a great dining room upstairs for a more formal meal, which can also be hired out for functions. Gets nicely busy in evenings without being too packed.
