In one word: Overpriced. Be prepared, they will try to convince you to order«meze», even if you really fancy something else, or you not being that hungry. This is because is cheaper and easier for them to serve everybody meze than making custom orders. My suggestion is avoid meze and try something else. Tried meze many times and you end up getting stuffed with a lot of pitta bread hummus etc waiting for the meat. When the meat arrives, usually almost one hour later, you are already full with the dips and the bread and you will probably not enjoy it that much. Do try meze once, but if you are going for a second+ visit you should try something else. If you fancy having some meat go for the mixed grill. similar with the meze, with less dips, a bit cheaper and you don’t have to wait for long before you can have your meat.

This place is incredible. An unpromising façade on a street in Bounds Green conceals a wonderland of mediterranean food. The kebab operation in front is pretty popular on a street which otherwise feels like it has seen better days. Walk through that and you arrive back in time in the 1950s, in a cavernous room with wood paneling and art, nice and attentive wait staff, and incredibly good Cypriot food. I have heard from a good friend(who told me about this place… I never would have gone there otherwise) that the fish is amazing but I’ve not yet tried it… I can report that the kleftiko(slow roasted lamb) is COMPLETELYAMAZING as are the copious mezze and the chicken kebab. Cant wait to go back.

I love this restaurant! Me and my girlfriend visit frequently. The entrance isn’t very glamorous(you enter through the kebab shop) but that makes me love it even more. It’s hidden away. The food is amazing. The service is brilliant. The comedian waiters crack me up every time. They really make us feel like royalty and laugh out loud. It can get a little loud on a busy night(to be expected). But the atmosphere, décor, musical entertainment(normally in form of a belly dancer) and most importantly the food make up for it. The price may seem excessive for some however it is fully worth while. I have been to many greek restaurants. This one is by far the best. I can’t wait to go back for Meze :)

Had a large lamb shish which was tasty enough but not exactly game-changing. Bit pricy at 7.50 and you have to pay 50p extra for proper cypriot bread. Bit disappointing after all the rave reviews.

This is easily the second best greek in London(vineyard greek taverna tops the list in South London) however the best in North London. The meze, which is my favorite way of eating, is seperated into five courses, i would always recommend going for the fish and meat meze. Very tasty and reasonably priced.

Definitely order the mezze for 2 but I think it’s really feeds 4. It feels like you’ve been invited to someone’s home for dinner and your friends grandmother constantly feeds you until you are about to burst. If you’re a fan of variety, you won’t be disappointed with this spread so definitely pace yourself.

From the outside it doesnt look that big but after walking through the kebab house to enter, you discover the depth of the place. There is an immediate buzz of noise reflecting the heavy volume of group bookings. Tables are placed closely together and depending on where you’re seated, every now and again you may find yourself receiving a light tap as waiters and diners pass by(everyone is apologetic… it can’t be helped). We ordered from their set menu and the amount of food that arrived was crazy. I had to ask whether they had the right table! Families with children are welcome at anytime — as well as a group feel, there’s a sense of ‘family’ here too. The food was well presented and served in generous portions. Everything tasted great — I couldn’t fault it. There were a lot of meat dishes. I ended up taking some away with me, which they were happy to accommodate and appeared to be popular with other diners.

I had a takeaway kebab from here last night and it was just amazing. The best. Will go back and eat in the restaurant very soon.

used to be good with no competition around to compare… with the appearance of new kebabs houses in north london its evident that the food lacks any fresh flavours from the med. plenty of food but cant say quality or creative service terrible, waiters rude.

They do a fantastic kebab here and the meze is even better. A highlight of the street. There is even a mushroom kebab for the vegetarians! A large lamb kebab is enough to sate an evenings hunger.

I am half Greek and half Turkish, and their respective foods are just like the cultures, virtually identical! they just have different names to them. I have always been in the middle of that famous argument, who’s food is better and where does Kebab come from, well, I don’t really care, all I know is, the best Meze in London for it vast amounts of food, atmosphere and price, is the Meze at Vrisaki. The food just keeps on coming. The starters will fill you up, no question about that. It is in the middle of a suburban road in Wood Green and is busy most nights. Once you walk in, you will notice the pictures of famous people who have visited, like Sven Goren Erikson, then walk through some double doors and it opens up into a small but nice traditional setting. To book a table of four or more, I would suggest you make that call at least two weeks in advance. They also have a takeaway service, but do not deliver, I wish they did though! If you are not Greek and want to try something new, try the sheftaia, a Greek sausage, lovely!

When you walk in to this place you would not think you could have a nice night dinning but it was really nice. The owner is very chatty and i see in another review that she likes to get about and say high to everyone. Food was good, I eat normally a lamb kebab and it was very nice. Price was good as well. Two of us with drinks £35. Not bad.

Dined there last night and I have to agree with the reviews already in place. Entrance is daunting as you have to squeeze through the Kebab bar to get to the rear which is the main restaurant. Met the owner and she was very pleasant to talk to. As it was a special event, we were allowed to bring some top qulity Greek wines and they are going to adopt some of them!

Down a residential street and at the back of what looks like a kebab house is Vrisaki; a brilliant Greek restaurant. The meze is the best I have found in the UK, and includes a large variety of dishes including gorgeous fish, and meat kebabs. You will be very full, can sit there eating for hours, and the bill is very reasonable.

Wonderful. Looks like a normal kebab shop when you walk in — but go past the counter and you enter a lovely welcoming restaurant. You are made to feel at home straight away. I’ve only had the meze here but I can’t rate it highly enough. However hungry you are you will never be able to finish it — just when you think you’ve had everything, another course will be brought out! Ok, so it’s not cheap. But it is delicious, authentic and it’s not often you get to dine like you’re at a banquet.

This placed is such an amazing hidden gem. Well, hidden from me anyway, but definitely not from the hordes of people who packed the place throughout the evening. Looks like a kebab shop from the front but then you walk back through into a much larger room that is full of locals who have come for the huge portions of delicious traditional greek dishes. We ordered the set menu option which was 36 pounds for 2, which sounds pricey but the ammount of food you get for this is staggering. Plates and plates of mixed mezze to start, then onto the gorgeous fish and seafood course, then finally when you think you might burst a mixed meat platter that is amazing. Had a really good night here and will definitely come back with an appetite.

This little gem is hidden behind a kebab house in the middle of nowhere in the middle of London! Bounds Green is not exactly the place to go in London, but believe me once you have eaten the 68 course(not literally, more like 6 – 8 courses) meze you will be one of Bounds Green’s most frequent visitor even for a delicious takeaway souvlaki. The meze is a mammoth eating experience, one most enjoyed with a big group of you. Here you are served the cold dishes(taramosalata, hummous, tsatsiki, tahina with pitta bread, beans etc), the cold seafood dishes, followed by the hot starters(halloumi, lountza) then seafood, more prawns and a big fish. Then when you just can’t handle it anymore and your trouser/skirt/jean button is about to pop they bring out the meat. Souvlakia and sheftalies and quails. The food is delicious, it’s as if you were in Cyprus, the staff are entertaining and the service is great. The best meze you will experience out of Cyprus. Well worth the £18 a head you pay. But a friendly warning — wear expandable clothes.
