Situated just outside of Westfield Shopping centre, lies this little gem. Everyone working in this branch were friendly and our waitress was really attentive. The food was amazing — we didn’t wait long at all and the food was great value for money. They do lovely juices as well — I ordered the green and lean which was very refreshing. We decided on the chips and guacamole to start obvs! Could have done with a bit more guac but maybe just me being greedy. The main dishes can be quite small so they suggest you order a few but I ordered the burrito(which I highly recommend) and a side salad and it was more than enough! Although absolutely stuffed, couldn’t resist ordering the churros for dessert. They now ask whether you would like the chocolate dip or the salted caramel — salted caramel please! You get three lovely little churros and the dip was divine. Again, highly recommend !

Good food, nice outdoor seating, decent service. I was surprised at how good the food was. I have lived the last 30 years in California and have enjoyed very authentic Mexican to commercial Mexican food. The 3 of us were craving Mexican food after traveling a few weeks and Wahaca and were pleasantly surprised at how tasty this Mexican food was in London. The specialty drinks were fair. The fried plantain appetizer was delicious. The grilled chicken tostada was a welcome change with plenty of lettuce and chopped vegetables.

A great place to experience Mexican food in London. Is a part of a chain but they do a lot of justice to the dishes. Nice one!

Great food, like a Mexican tapas — lots of small plates. Lovely set up and easy to get to from Stratford shopping centre(its just outside!). I’d recommend eating in any of the restaurants positioned on this road actually just because it gets you a little further away from the crowds and you are more likely to get a table. Recommend pretty much all of it, especially the specials — I had crickets and they were surprisingly good! The app is great for paying and splitting the bill. Was extremely disappointing recently when they introduced a new rule that they wont substitute any items on the set menu and there is no separate option for vegetarians.

I enjoyed the experience, service was good, interesting spin on Mexican cuisine, ambience good. The 3 of us shared 6 small plates which was a terrific variety and very filling. Margaritas were so-so but then I’m not a big Margarita drinker: D When in Rome is my policy ;-) My two favorites were Salmon Sashimi Tostadas and Sweet Potato and feta Taquitos. Highly recommendable!

Lovely food! The colours of the rainbow! Just wish the Gin Fizz cocktail didn’t have kaluha in! lets just say I drank it slowly! But the service was great, food reasonable prices and delicious. The hot sauces are all quite spicy which is great for me! We had tapas and shared 4 dishes and 2 sides between 2 of us which was definitely enough(especially with some chips & guacamole to start). The sweet potato side was pretty darn small even if we weren’t sharing but the slaw was good size to share! Also try the salmon sashimi tostada that was beautiful! And for dessert, who doesn’t love churros?! You get 3, either with choc or caramel, so sharing is perfect size especially after all the food for main. On a side note, they also have grasshoppers on the menu if you’re brave enough to order them!

I love wahacca, It is always busy in here so why not go put your name down for a table go to the bar and have a mojito and some gaucamole with nachos. Their gauc is amazing! I suggest getting the street food dishes 3or 4 each(im a girl) and then share with who ever your with! Great prices you cant really complain. I reccomend the chicken taquitos and the pork pibull tacos(little spicy). I liked this one because i got to sit outside(yes it was sunny that day) i liked watching the shoppers go past. Yes it is busy and u wait a little for the table but it evens out as the service is quick and efficient. Great place for a pre or post shopping meal!

Thursday night is def more vibrant than earlier in the week. Food — Mexican Street food or meals. I like the variety of the street food. There are usually a couple of seasonal dishes on offer, sometimes gluten free or like tonight not gf. The gf menu presents. A good choice of food is available. It is great for groups ax well ac couples and even single diners are not that out of place

My friend and I went here for a long overdue catch up after struggling to find somewhere else suitable. We ordered quesadillas which were delicious, shared tortilla chips and my friend had sweet potato fries which were lovely too. After my first visit to a different branch of Wahaca last year sampling the beautiful horchata, I had to drink that again and wasn’t disappointed. Infact just writing about it makes me want to drink one right now! The service was very quick, efficient and super friendly so judging by the other reviews we were either very lucky or they have learnt previous experiences! Would definitely recommend if you’re after something quick, tasty and pretty reasonably priced. My only quibble was with the random /awkwardly low and uncomfortable seating. Public transport served by a multitude of buses in Stratford, the DLR, tube and overground.

I have been to this location a couple of times and always had tasty and fast Mexican food in a fun and colourful setting. I usually order the street food, small but rich and tasty plates that you can share or have all by yourself. 3 or 4 would do. But they also have the option to order bigger portions or main dishes. The food is always fresh so if you are picky like me, you can customize your meal(no onions, please!). They serve you the food as they cook it, so your table is never too full or too empty! They also do cocktails and they are amazing, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic ones and their selection of tequilas is quite impressive! The service is very good, attentive and smiling people willing to help you choose your food. I will be back soon as I also love the decoration and the graffiti on the walls!

Loved Wahaca the one time I went with friends. Loved their Tacos and other sides. The mains are small portions is my only minus.

I absolutely love Wahaca! The venue has a great atmosphere and looks really cool! The staff are really friendly, attentive, and just generally amazing! The food is absolutely delicious and we made our way through the list of Margaritas which were also delicious! I would highly recommend Wahaca and I will most definitely be back. I have tried lots of restaurants in Westfield, but this is most definitely the best which is due to it’s great food and great staff.

Wahaca! I’m a new fan of Wahaca after swearing off any kind of Mexican food as I felt it can often be greasy, dairy heavy and just a little bit too much all at once. This condition was much to my partner’s chagrin as her family are originally from Oaxaca, the region for which this chain is named. Needless to say, she’s much happier with me now that I don’t refuse her suggestions of ‘Mexican?’ whenever the question of dinner comes up. For new Wahaca goers, this place is basically Wagamama for Mexican food. Your menu doubles up as a placemat. Dishes are about £9 each but there are little appetizer dishes for around £4 if you prefer to dabble. I tend to go for their classic fish tacos which are a light option, filled with crunchy salad, a chunk of battered cod, drizzled with a spicy condiment and served alongside a pot of rice and beans plus a side salad. Delicious! Share some pork pibils and it’s more than enough to fill the average adult up. Their tortilla chips and guacamole are worth the cost as they’re both homemade and nothing like the salty bagged chips you can buy at the supermarket. I wouldn’t recommend the burritos if you’re sitting down for a meal though. It’s pretty small and comes with a side of tortilla chips with a little bit of salsa. I’d prefer salad thrown in the mix but hey, if you’re a carnivorous type, maybe that’s your thing! I think it’s better value to pop around to Tortilla which is in the food court. Don’t forget the horchata! It’s THE drink you need to try that lots of Mexican restaurants don’t serve for some inexplicable reason. This place got a deduction in stars because the service was pretty inconsistent. I came with my mum and her food along with a plate of pork pibil were both sitting on the counter for 5 minutes before they arrived at the table. We’d politely asked them to check/bring the food over twice to no avail. When they finally arrived the pork pibils were cold, soggy and falling apart which made me a pretty sad panda.

Oh Wahaca, you tricky devil you. This one is all about expectations and consistency… had I reviewed this on my first couple of visits no way would I have given more than three stars… as it stands, I’m leaning to at least a 3.5 so rounding rules lead me to a 4. A couple of years ago I heard about this amazing Mexican pseudo chain that I had to try in London… being from the southern part of the US I was intrigued so of course made my way over at first opportunity… it… was… a… disaster. The margaritas were small, had agave syrup in them(I know it’s hip, but no… just no”), and just uneventful. The raved about pork pibbles(or whatever they are called) lacked any outstanding flavour, and honestly I can’t remember anything having that great of an impact. I certainly didn’t hate the place, but didn’t get the fuss either. Luckily due to various reasons and different groups of people I’ve been back on a few occasions and with adjusted expectations have tried various things. The first thing is this is not a place for mains… while I’ve had a few that were nice, they were nice on occasion… some people have mentioned consistency as a plus for Wahaca, but I must be the unluckiest guy in the world if that’s the case… because, you know, inconsistent food must be the worst thing that can happen to someone. Moving on, it’s too much of an investment to commit to a larger dish here when the results can be hit or miss. The same goes for the street feed, for me at least, but at lower prices and lower belly room commitment it’s less of an issue… sometimes a small dish, such as the MSC Herring Tostadas, is top notch while at other times it’s miles away from the last visit. Same for the guacamole, etc., I just haven’t found the consistency. And again, one of the beers Michelada style(with spices, Tabasco, and lime juice) can soooo rock my world, but at other times they’re just off… never actually bad, but far from their former glory. The inconsistency is particularly curious because none of the dishes are that complicated. Where I’ve learned to elevate my previous rating is the way I view Wahaca now… it’s not really somewhere I go for a meal, but rather pop in for a different type of snack if a pending meal is on the cards for later, I’m a bit peckish, etc. With this in mind, dropping by for two small plates(or a small plate and a side) coupled with a Michelada style beer for under £12 is a win no matter how I spin it. The other thing that helps elevate Wahaca is the style… it may not be to everyone’s taste, but I like the quirkiness of it, especially this location with their hanging signed lanterns near the Olympic Park… it’s colourful and a bit fun. Oh, and the chilli seeds with each bill always brings a smile. :) Side note, they also get points for sourcing from the UK where possible, as well as supporting sustainable fishing practices. Don’t get me wrong, I know many people who love this place so it’s worth a try… just know that it’s not exactly Mexican, and to it’s credit I think it’s pitched as more of a Mexican/British fusion, and that it can be a bit hit or miss. When it works, it really works though… I won’t be rushing here for a proper meal anytime soon, but my last quick bite order of Herring Tostadas, Fried Sweet Potato Chunks, and an extra spicy Modelo Especial Michelada(all for just over £11) is definitely calling for another go. Star Guide: If you LOVE traditional Mexican food: ** If you’re looking for something a bit different, but not too fussed on it being actual Mexican food: *** If you can adjust your expectations, put up with a little inconsistency, and make it work for you: ****, just barely.

I always love a trip to Wahaca and this one didn’t disappoint! So if you are brave enough to go to Westfield Stratford on a weekend day — or any day in fact — you are most likely going to need to sit down at then end of it and this is probably the best place to rest your feet and fill your belly. And of course Tequila is encouraged and that gets an extra star from me!

Drinks were amazing! Try their mojito and margairta. It’s been a while since I was here and I only remember good things. I loved the ambiance, it was very modern and creative. Not very warm, but cool and unique. There were multiple areas of seating and different types of tables and booths. The food is served in small portions and which allows you to order different dishes and as much as you want. I loved the idea, and will definitely go back if I’m in Stratford!

I had dinner here on the 22nd of Nov 2012. I ordered a beef steak main. It was accompanied with rice, green rice and a tortilla bread thing. Food was ok. Steak was cooked ok and my salsa had a kick. The tortilla thingi was so rubbery, it took me back to my «chew-everything» toddler years and the taste of Royal Mail rubber band. Service was very good. No complaints at all about this. Will I go back? No Why? It was just meh… Is this representative of Mexican food? Gosh no.

This is third location of Wahaca I’ve visited, and they are consistent with taste, atmosphere and service, and the only place in London I can get my preferred street-style Mexican food. I nearly always get the tacos but went back to a favorite I ruled out because you just never know how seriously to take that spicy food chile icon warning: the slow roasted pork burrito with habenero chiles. However both times i’ve had it was fine, and i’m on the wussier side of spicy food enjoyment. But the spice factor aside, I’ve come to the conclusion that they’re just better at tacos. If it’s fresh, fatty burritos you’re after, head to Chipotle, they do a stellar job that just can’t be beaten.
