Love a good Taco, love some mexi. Here’s a decent option for you! Love the food and setting. Price is reasonable(to canary wharf standard), and food is nice. Had a fish Taco and it tasted awesome! Only complaint is that it was too small. Think I can eat 3 of them to be full! No I don’t eat a lot.

Sorry but the food was terrible. Guacamole was watered down and seemed old. Burrito was boring– just meat, rice and sauce. No sour cream, no lettuce, no pico de gallo– nothing good! Won’t go back.

Wahaca is Wahaca wherever you go in London, so take it or leave it. Normally heaving at lunchtime with all the other workers of Canary Wharf, since it’s one of the few fast options around. There’s also a takeaway service inside and a food truck just outside, in Canada Square, where you can also pick up burritos and the like.

Another great dinner at Wahaca. This is one of my favorite places to get a fast, inexpensive lunch or dinner. The food is always tasty and fast. Perfect for a fun lunch with friends or family.

Eh, it’s Wahaca. This is neither good, nor bad, it just is. When people ask about Mexican food in London, I show them this, because while they just don’t get what Mexican food is actually about(the greasy spoon feeling, the incredibly cheap bites for ridiculously large meals, the flavours, the free chips), it still will get the job done. It’s more artisanal Mexican, which means everything is laid out beautifully, each dish comes served differently(tacos come in their own little taco holders, meats and sauces are blended in almost yin yang like paterns, etc). The food comes fast, the service is super polite and you can even pay with your app, which is solid. And yet, I always walk out of here kind of disappointed and it never really satisfies my Mexican craving. I’m sure I will be back, and sadly, feel this way all over again.

It’s a no-surprise all-round 3 stars isn’t it. It’s your standard chain — nothing is ever gonna be awful, nothing is ever gonna be outstanding, but you always know what you’re gonna get. Can’t say better than that!!! Stand out dish was the crab and avocado tostada. That was deee-lish. Stand out bad dish was the chicken quesadilla — dry and very tasteless. No. Staff were lovely though, and I like the style of the menu where you can keep it there and just keep ordering as you eat. Grand!

In the Canary Wharf/Docklands area there isn’t a whole lot of choice for food outside your typical chain options. We ended up here for some food kind of by default — it seemed like the best option from the few choices we had. Wahaca reminds me a lot of Topolabomba in Glasgow(Wahaca came first, just to make that clear). It’s casual, open-area dining with table service and this location in particular was rammed with business folk who’d just knocked off work(or were still working on their laptops at their tables). The menu is your placemat and there’s a pretty massive range so you should be able to find something that you like. We got guacamole and frijoles to share between the table — both of these were super tasty but as my workmate mentioned, the guac didn’t look super fresh and had turned a little grey in colour. I ordered: chicken taquitos, salmon sashimi tostadas and crab & avocado toastadas. This was the perfect amount of food for a late night dinner and with most things coming in at around £5, pretty damn good value too(esp for London). I can’t decide which I liked the most as they were all pretty damn delicious — I would say the chicken taquito needed some seasoning as it was perhaps a tad bland but otherwise I really liked the food. I also tried a passion fruit margarita which was way too sweet but once I watered it down it was fine. We had churros to finish — these are a small portion of 3 churros and the sauce is super rich. I could have done without these as then I’d eaten way too much food. My workmate paid for the meal on the app which is a kind of cool idea — although, you need to know your table number and we couldn’t find this anywhere so had to ask a waitress. Service was excellent and friendly and all up, I was pretty impressed with this place for a late-night dinner.

Having lived in Southern California for many years, I know what Mexican food is. I know they are a ’boutique’ Mexican restaurant, but they missed it. The chips are commercial, made in a factory and not meant to be fresh. If you want salsa with your chips, it costs more, same if you wish to add guacamole, that is to say you have to order that order, meaning one order chips and salsa and a second order of chips and guacamole. The guacamole was good. The Black Bean and cheese quesadilla was bland, dry and comes without any crema or salsa. I did not finish. My server never came back around so I could not get some mild chilli sauce. I guess I’ll wait until I go to the states to get Mexican food.

Always a pleasure to eat here. The street food style allows me to taste multiple dishes for a decent fare. Book in advance as evenings can be quite a wait. Their bar on the top floor is also decent where yummy nachos and dips go well with the booze.

Wahaca is right in be middle of Canary Wharf’s Canada Square — in a great location — and perfect for meeting up with friends and colleagues for lunch or after work. It’s a big space so I’ve never had to wait in a queue for seats during lunch or dinner, but there’s always lots of people so it’s buzzing so it’s got a good vibe. In terms of the food itself, proper Mexican food in London simply doesn’t exist so my standards are quite low — I’m not saying Wahaca’s food is amazing but it’s not bad either. What I do like is it’s tapas-style so small bites for many of the dishes so you get a variety… and they’re priced fairly. And most importantly, the food comes out fast! Service is good, fast, and friendly — look forward to future lunch/dinners here. FYI in the summers they’ve got a food truck outside where you can get tacos and sit on the grass at Canada Square — perfect way to enjoy the summer evenings after work.

I think that Linzi wrote a great review of this place, way back when — wow — nearly 6 years ago now. Unlike Linzi at that point, I have spent quite a bit of time facedown in a lot of Californian Mexican-type grub. So, I could write this review from the point of «disappointment», but my expectations have been most definitely adjusted to fit what a London«Mexican» eatery will give me and what it will not. To be brief, I was not expecting outstanding service when I came here. And guess what? I didn’t get outstanding service. I was not expecting to be bowled over by the greatest revolution in Mexican food since a man rode a little donkey across the border into California. And, you guessed it, the food was purely average representations of many dishes that we all know and(sometimes) love. The décor? The ambience? Ultra corporate. Ultra chain. No atmosphere. Apart from the clatter of dishes. So then. Just as I had thought. I was not expecting to be wowed and my expectations were met.

We went to meet friends for lunch and I suggested Wahaca, based on two fantastic experiences in the past and Wahaca lived up to its expectations, again! There was me(of course) and three vegetarians. It was a busy afternoon and we were told we’d be seated in a few minutes whilst we waited in the bar. The buzzer buzzed soon and we were on our way. We mostly ordered vegetarian options like plantain tacos, rice+beans, guac+nachos etc. I went for a chicken burrito and chicken quesadilla, in addition. We also had an almond/cinnamon/rice milk drink called horchata. The service was exceptional and so was the speed of service. Five stars again, cos simply they deserve it! As with any other place, I sincerely hope they continue to maintain their excellent standards.

Wahaca is one of the better places to grab Mexican food in London. My dining experiences at the Canary Wharf location have always been great. Service is fast and efficient, and the food is good. I like having the choice between getting 3 – 4 small plates or one entrée. I highly recommend the plantain tacos — they’re pretty darn tasty. I’m always down for a black bean and cheese quesadilla, and the steak tacos aren’t half bad either. This particular Wahaca location has a great outdoor bar looking over a park. In the summers you can sit out here and watch Wimbledon matches on 2 huge outdoor television while sipping on margaritas.

Excellent Mexican food in a very festive environment. The staff was quite friendly. The portions are quite small so you will need to order several of them. I tried three of the taco selections and all were amazing. Very creatively done with nice flavors and tastes.

I am fan of Wahaca! The service, price, food and overall dining experience was great. I ordered British Steak the Mexican way(medium rare) and it was delicious. If you are looking for a place to go to with colleagues that is convenient, trendy and causal I highly recommend coming here. Also, you can’t beat the location of this place as it’s centrally located near all the major offices and rail station.

Having ordered my ‘first time burrito’ I spent the rest of the meal glancing at my friend’s chicken and fish dishes with a hint of jealousy. Don’t get me wrong — the burrito was nicely made, huge and with all the right flavours but it looked a bit boring whilst the chicken and fish could make your mouth water just by looking at the way it was served. Tacos had quite a plain taste as for my taste buds. Overall — lovely lunch and I’m coming back for the chicken ;)

When did Mexican start becoming so popular in London? This place was absolutely packed to the brim with gents and ladies in business suites. Unfortunately this hurt our experience here a bit, though. Due to rush hour, the waiter stopped by about 3 times saying he will attend to us. The second time he actually started taking our order and then bolted off half way through my order because he forgot to attend to another table first! Mate! Additionally, half way through my meal I realized my british steak burrito was cooked blue! The cow of which this fine piece of meat came from was pretty much still alive. Absolutely disgusting. I complained showing the manager it was barely simmered and he agreed and immediately took it off the bill, so props for customer service in that regard but I was still dissapointed I couldn’t finish my burrito. Living in California, I have to say Wahaca is not at all authentic but I don’t care because the rest of our food was delicious and it really does seem like a great place to come. Unlucky about our rude-ish waiter and poorly cooked steak but I’m willing to give Wahaca a second chance given the rest of the food and every other part of the experience was pretty good.

I am now a fan of this restaurant. I came here with a group of friends for lunch and ordered a couple of dishes. Even though the restaurant was pretty busy, I didn’t feel like it was a long delay until I got my food. I had the pork pibil and the chorizo & potato — both starter sizes and probably designed for sharing, but I just ate all of it by myself! The pork really hit the spot and the chorizo and potato was very tasty. I washed it all down with an apple and rhubarb juice. I would be happy to come back here again, for lunch or dinner. It looks ideal as a place to head to after work for some drinks and snacks.
