Wasabi is a really good place, I always get excited when I discover a new one out and about during my wanderings. Wasabi is kind of a takeaway for Japanese and this branch is quite good. The pick and mix sushi is amazing. Perfect for a healthy snack, or you can go all out and fill up a tray, They also do good pots of soup which you get them to fill up with hot water, or wraps for a more substantial ‘snack’. Really good for on the go. There is also a hot bar with Japanese curries, noodles and much more. Overall, Wasabi offers a healthy snack or lunch for those on the go. Too bad you have to pay for Soya Sauce and Wasabi.

Great price, bad fly. I was sitting at the bar, and there was a Harding working fly climbed his way up the whole time. way to go Fly.

Good fast Japanese food. I had the rice noodle soup with tofu, and a couple of single pieces of sushi. I thought it was a bid ridiculous to charge 5 pence for a small packet of ginger, but otherwise the prices were reasonable, there were plenty of options, and the food was good.

South Kensington Wasabi, you’re disappointing. Not for quality or freshness — that’s all up to standard — but selection-wise, this location is so so so sad. It’s not smaller than most other Wasabi locations, but it has much more space allocated to seating rather than food. Which seems odd for a restaurant. In the end, I got a bit of what I set out to have for lunch. Friendly staff members, at least!

A really decent sized chicken curry that was quite frankly delicious for only £4.95? Yes please!

Why does Wasabi charge for soy sauce packets and wasabi? I don’t get it… Sure it’s like, 5 pence a packet, but I don’t think that’s the way to go. There are so many of these around London. I’ve tried the teriyaki chicken onigri rice ball, the spicy chicken somen, and the curry chicken katsu. I would get the noodle soup and curry again, but avoid the rice ball. There’s not much chicken and the flavor isn’t amazing. Also get the curry during lunch hours so it’s still hot! Sushi selection is pretty limited too. Sure, there seems to be a lot, but the variations are broken down into three categories: veggie sushi(with either egg, seaweed, or tofu), salmon(salmon sushi, even the CA rolls have them), or meat(teriyaki sushi). That’s basically it. And because I don’t eat salmon, it’s pretty limited. 5 stars for convenience and affordability. 3 stars for selection. 3.5 stars for taste.

LOVE Wasabi. If you’re after some simple but good nigiri this is the place for you. The rolls are a pound for 2 pieces, which is just an incredible price, imo. They are good quality and fresh, so don’t be put off by the price and mass produced nature. I like to get the bento box with 6 pieces of salmon nigiri, which also comes with a seaweed, edamame and haricot vert salad. All that for only 3.95! It’s obviosly not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but for the price, it can’t be beat. It’s the perfect healthy and affordable lunch. I love to get a box of it and enjoy it in Hyde Park which is just around the corner.
