I’ve always found this Wasabi quite dirty. It has a big dining area, but I think it gets used a lot, and every time I come here I need to move rubbish off the tables. Maybe because it’s such a fast food experience, the turnover is high, although they don’t really offer /encourage bin use. The menu at each Wasabi is about the same… Prices seem standard across the board… As one of the lesser evils of fast food on the high street. It’s not particularly good quality sushi and it’s not partially cheap, but it is one of the healthier options if you’re in a rush. Sushi is really an art, and whilst the quality of fish is good here, they tend to bulk this up with rice. Most pieces hold together, but are quite haphazard. I tend to opt for a meal option and then add some from their self-selection. I also like the little seaweed triangles and the noodles are just on the side of acceptable if you fancy something hot. I can’t comment on service, you don’t really need or have the chance to interact with staff. Although the good thing about this is that the queues are usually short!

Wasabi seems to be on track for world domination — well, London tube stations at the very least. At the moment I am still happy to see them pop up everyhwere I go … really love their sushi, especially the fact that you can pick’n’mix your own selection. A bit more expensive than buying the sets, but a lot cheaper than opting for one of the latter and throwing out all the pieces including crab or prawn(fussy eater, I know). My excitement about my latest Wasabi discovery in Hammersmith — the tube station is turning into a food mall — was dampened a little bit by the sight of the next one just a few metres along Kings Road. Having two or three branches in walking distance to each other doesn’t make me like them more, but less. Don’t ask me why, but it just feels a lot less special and a bit greedy(on their part). The same gripes as with all other Wasabi branches I have visited … would be nice to have the soy sauce and wasabi thrown in for free rather than being charged 5p a pop. Especially as the sachets come in stupid sizes — unless you like dunking your sushi in a green slush and taste nothing but horseradish. I always need two sachets of soy and end up throwing away most of the wasabi. At least at Hammersmith they give you container for the sauce and chopstix — my first experience at Liverpool Street a few months ago didn’t include either. I was surprised to see how busy this branch was on a Monday afternoon. At around 4pm several tables were taken and others — like me — stocked up on sushi for a healthy evening meal. No queue for the warm dishes on this occasion.

The staff are nice. Wasabi’s quality is generally less than stellar, but the food does tend to be nicer here than in the other branches…

Love the sushi here. Out of all the sushi chains I find Wasabi delivers the best quality fish. I always go for the Hana set and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly enough and most importantly, efficient. I always to take out because the décor is very cold(like a lot of Sushi chains) but thumbs up from me! ps just the thought of their sashimi with wasabi and soya is making my mouth water!

Wasabi, why don’t you come to Hawaii? We are the land of sushi lovers and Japanese food. Your modern décor would be a hit here. And I’m a super fan of your convenient and economic meals! The salmon soumen noodle which I tried was surprisingly filling. I was charmed at how the cashier simply asked if I wanted vegetable or chicken broth and then proceeded to add water and warmed up the noodles for me. I wish I had gone back and grabbed a chirashi salad from you because that looked quite tempting. So did the large miso cup. And the individual sushi bites.

Located right opposite Mc Donalds in Hammersmith Broadway, Wasabi offers great Japanese food to go, and at Mc Donald’s prices too! Wasabi has really great hot Japanese food and sushi, and even though at lunchtimes it’s usually packed, the service is always so efficient that I never even notice the queues– it takes me longer to decide from the whole range of delicious noodles, salads, curries or sushi! The Hammersmith branch is also a good place to sit and eat in too– there are plenty of benches and tables, so altogether Wasabi is a great alternative fast food restaurant.
