So for what I came in here for, it was a fail. But for everything else, this branch is a total win. It has an amazing location and I am SO glad for it. Right in the middle of Charing Cross Station, where I need to catch my train home? I can’t even BEGIN to tell you the amount of times I’ve needed to grab some blue-tack/sellotape/water/lunch on the way to and from work in a hurry and this branch always delivers. Unlike some of the other vendors in CHX, they get that because they’re in a station with national rail trains that only run once every half an hour or an hour, the key is SPEED. I need to be in and out of your store with what I wanted in one minute. They’ve got self-serve checkouts and an always-manned person one, so you’ve got plenty of options and won’t get stuck behind someone taking an age. Perfect. And the range is pretty good. Food, snacks, drinks, birthday cards, books and basically every magazine you could think of. Not the full range of a WHSmith but perfect for a station. And sure, they didn’t have the ‘fiancé’ birthday card I was after. But after trying about 50 other shops, I’m going to put that down to the greetings card industry instead of WHSmith. Winner!

This is a great branch of the trusty High Street retailer, most famous for books and magazines and this Charing Cross branch doesn’t disappoint. There is an excellent range of magazines and books and it’s a great place to grab a book for your visit or commute home or to waste some time reading a magazine whilst waiting for your train. There is also a great range of sweets and drinks and also some travel games too, which in my book makes it tops too! The staff here are usually friendly, polite and pretty efficient too. Recommended and in a perfectly central location!
