Quaint little shop that sells wine — what else do you need. They make sandwiches, good coffee and Portuguese cakes. It’s not very big with about 10 tables but you have the option to sit outside. Out the back is a great selection of wines and everything is Portuguese. The staff are lovely and the place attracts people from all over — it’s a must visit especially on a rainy day

Any place that as an authentic foreign vibe will always peak my interest. This was most certainly true of the Portuguese run Wine Cellar. This place is a cute little coffee shop come grocery store, selling traditional Portuguese fair. The selection of meats, olive oils, little pastries etc etc… is quite exciting. On this visit I sampled a roll stuffed with a pastrami mix and salad. It was good. It was not so great I’d boast about it, but I enjoyed it. What won me over was the free banana the cashier offered me. This made me happy, and refuelled my belief, family run businesses are far superior, to huge, lacking in personality chains.

The Wine Cellar is a cute little café/food bar on Kentish Town Road in the heart of Kentish Town. It boasts a great range of ‘posh’ café lunches — panninis and spanish-inspired tapas, cofffees and — low and behold — wine. Reasonably priced, it does a good range of take-away meals as well if you’re in a rush. As the name suggests, you can also buy bottles of wine, and the staff are knowlegable if you need help matching your wine with food!
