One of the relatively few«proper» secondhand book shops in this part of town; smallish stock but tend toward the quality end of things. Expect prices commensurate with that. Lots of travel, art, and architectural books.

This is a quirky little bookshop at the end of the Kings Road. It smells really musty because the books are so old but that smell has a strange effect on me. It sort of brings up memories of my old library in Ireland in a nice way. There is a pretty good selection of books here from cooking, performing arts to travel, history and politics. These days I get most of my books on amazon but it’s nice to visit places like this to just switch off and enter into another reality.

A good choice of books on all subjects to be had at this friendly cave of a place at the not-so-poncey end of King’s Road. Explore the dusty shelves to your heart’s content. I am a sucker for histories and travel writing, of which they seemed to have a lot, but there seems to be lots of choice in all areas. I went here quite a lot and there always seemed to be a sale of some type on. Once I went in and everything in the place was half-price! Unbelievable! But perhaps a clue for serious collectors to stay away… …For the average schamile like me though, a very pleasant way to while away a lunch hour.
