Fish and chips is a popular classic take-away dish that originated in the UK in around 1858 and Emiles serves it the way you expect of a corner shop. The cod is as white and fresh as you can get locally and deep fried with batter until golden brown to give you the delightful crunch and taste of cod. I would say this is the best fish and chips I have had so far. The medium is a good size portion @ £3.80(more when you eat in) and you can get a large chip to share with a party of 3. Emiles also serves very good chips — small potatoes cuts, deep fried. You can have haddock instead of cod and in the afternoon a variation of lunch bites at £1.

I have been using Emiles at Looe for many years, its the best fish and chips in Cornwall, I have tried Rick Steins and Port and Starboard near Newquay, but Emiles is as good if not better, consistantly fantastic, the fish is melt in the mouth. We usually go once a month, for take away, or sometimes use the restaurant. if i lived a bit closer i would eat fish and chips every week.

Fantastic Fish and chips, Fish was perfect, chunky flakes of pure white cod, tasty chips, not the cheapest but definitely the best.

Gunnymaid, Glad you enjoyed your food, the cod bites are incredibly popular and sell out quickly, unfortunately we cant meet the demand for them, but thanks for your review.

im fussy about fish & chips. we were at looe so decided to try kids use to stay their dads in looe few yers back & mentioned barbican chippy. had fish bites they were tasty the chips were too, bit of queue & a wait, but was hot & fresh. only fault was they did not have to portions of fish bites. also did think its a bit pricey. but would go again.
