Bombay Spice

Having come to stay in Lowestoft just for one night, from another area of Suffolk, decided to give this bright looking restaurant a try. So glad we did, lovely atmosphere, nice food and above all things LOVELY staff, would definitely go there again and recommend it, a nice end to a night night holiday, mum and daughter meeting husband and son after a football match over at Norwich.

We went last night to try their £9.95 promotion night. I had read bigedd2004’s review so thought it was morth a try.
It was good enough and well worth the money but not worth the 5 star rating on this occasion.
The starters were nice enough but the portions were a little small — over half the plate was taken up with salad.
Both our main courses, a chicken chilla masala and a nice spicy lamb tikka masala were well spiced and interesting. The keema rice was far too greasy to be really enjoyable which was a shame.
The best bit was the vegetarian side dishes, my aloo chana was very good.
We both thought £4.20 a pint for lager was a little excessive.
On the basis of this first visit it is worth visiting, but they have not done enough to replace Spice Den as my number one choice.

This is now my preferred Indian. Top marks for service and food quality. Oh! and they have acheived 5 stars for hygeine. Excellent food menu and not a bad wine selection either. I would like to read other reviews for this restaurant.
