The Silver Pear is a gift shop that sells a wide range of items, both practical and wonderfully impractical. Its stock is arranged over two floors, and it is not the place to enter with a lot of bags, as you might cause(or fear causing) serious damage. The upper floor has some clothing and furniture. I have bought some lovely bright and comfortable Moroccan babouches here at a far more reasonable price than I have seen elsewhere. Downstairs has a good selection of crockery, kitchenware and the like(Alessi type items). The shop has stocked some beautiful and elegant lamps, and other decorative items. There are also a number of gifts; in fact my mousemat came from the Silver Pear(Women over 30 are better because their handbags can sustain life for about a week with no outside support whatsoever — so true.) There are small gift books, cards and wrapping paper. At the back of the shop is a small area with toiletries, mostly ranges that it is difficult to find elsewhere. Finally there is now a selection of gorgeous handbags, including the lovely pleated bags from Lupo. Definitely worth a visit after payday or clutching your birthday money in your hot little paws.
