Moes Grill is somewhat of a hidden gem to those living in Magherafelt. Mainly due to the fact that it’s located on the Castledawson roundabout and not actually in the town. It seems to be most popular with those passing through on their way to Belfast from the Derry direction and vice versa. Anyway, my experience? Upon entering the restaurant(only my second time altogether) you’re greeted with an American diner type of look similar to that of frankie and Bennys, but no where near as hectic. Myself and my girlfriend were seated quickly which was great. However it took them about 15 minutes to come and ask us for our order, even though there were only 1 or 2 other tables in. In fairness though this could be down to the lack of waitresses, I only saw 2. This wasn’t a great start, however once the food was brought I immediately let the service side of things go. I had ordered a chicken and bacon sub and got a starter or chicken wings also(asked for them to come out together, their lunch deal is 2 courses for £7.95!). Anyway, this food was gorgeous and in all honesty I couldn’t finish it, even though this was my first meal of the day and it was roughly 2 o clock! My girlfriend had the classic beef burger and chips and it too was beautiful. All in all if you could just have one or two extra staff on then you’d be flying as your food was fantastic!
