Well that’s a thoughtful, witty name for a café, isn’t it? I’ve seen a fair few badly named businesses in my recent travels, but I think Maghull’s The Café has got to be up there with the best of them. The café itself is pleasant enough, offering a range of homemade and freshly cooked hot meals as well as a selection of cold meals that can all be purchased along with the usual selection of hot and cold drinks. The café is a nice enough place to sit down and have a rest in but it’s not exactly the type of place where you sit by the roadside and watch the world go by. If you’re in the area, and by area I mean walking to the local Morrison’s, then The Café might be worth stopping off at for a hot drink or some lunch but otherwise there are similar places littered about Maghull and the surrounding areas that are just as good, if not better.

This is a nice little lunch place. They do a fair variety of traditional, yummy greasy spoon British stuff like egg and pineapple, quiche, fish and chips, etc. The prices are really decent, and I’d go again if I had another reason to be in that area, which I probably wouldn’t. Except maybe for that fruit & veg shop(Trayner Brothers) … Mmmm, those nectarines!!!
