Couldn’t fault the service from start to finish… online booking is very simple via the website, plenty of parking just a 5 minute walk away and next to the police station (peace of mind). Seated just opposite the open fire which is a nice touch that you don’t often see in many restaurants nowadays. Staff were very prompt with taking our orders but not pushy at the same time and all seemed to have a good knowledge of the dishes and ingredients.
Me and my partner had the sharing starter which is a nice size, not too much and for mains we both had tikka masala with pilau rice. We ordered a naan to share but I would advise getting two as they are a tad small but all the food was very flavoursome and fresh, lovely and tender meat.
I would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Great service, friendly staff, fair prices…
Another unexpected treat was a free drink offered to us by the waiter…

Das Lokal ist relativ klein und teilt sich auf in einen Thekenbereich mit einigen Sitzgelegenheiten und dem eigentlichen Restaurant. Wir waren an einem Freitag Abend dort indes war sehr voll. Zusätzlich zu den Restaurantgästen kamen auch viele «Take away» Kunden. Man merkte gleich, dass das Restaurant sehr beliebt ist. Der Service war sehr freundlich und ich habe schon seit Jahren nicht mehr so gut Indisch gegessen.

Lived in the stone all my life and I have travelled around the UK for work, I have never found an Indian restaurant as good as the Shamrat.
My favourite dish is the Jal Masala and the closest you will get to this across the land is a garlic chilli dish (not as good by far)
You’ve tried the rest, now try the best.

This is my favourite Indian of all time. I have the Thali Starter and a tandoori mixed grill. Best mixed grill I have had anywhere. It has Lamb chops, king prawns, chicken, kebabs etc
I have only had takeaway from here but the diners in the restaurant seemed to be having a great time and all seem to know the owner. It seems everyone knows eachother and the staff just love doing their job.
