OMG! Now this is what we are talking about, what amazing food!!! The first time we went with a bunch of us after shisha, after midnight… and it was packed!!! I was a bit buzzed from shisha — well just like everyone else. my friends took me to this what they called their local spot! The first time I had the kebab but all my friends ordered the grilled ½ chicken, grilled on top of charcoal! But the rest of million times I’ve returned, I only order the charcoal grilled chicken. My lamb kebab was good with lots of meat and quite a bit salad — pretty fresh BUT the charcoal grilled chicken — oh damn… it’s AMAZING! Super juicy and tasty, got the smoky flavor from the charcoal. That was served with rice and salad. It also comes with one spicy and a yogurt dressing… the rice was super tasty… cooked from the roasted chicken stock(they also sell roasted but I HIGHLY recommend you go for the grilled) and some carrots and raisins. the dressings are very nice — paired very well with salad or even on the meat! It’s very busy so be patient waiting for the food, plus they grill the chicken when you order it so it wont be dried out when they serve you… They are usually quite friendly but when they get super slammed please be understanding :) after all you won’t be disappointed !!!

Great food as usual but… The service is getting worse. 1) no smile 2) loud discussions between the staff 3) forgot to serve my ordered chips and when I’ve asked how long it will take(after a 15 min wait) they just ignored me and said we did not receive any order… pathetic. So disappointed! :-(

One of the best of its kind on the curry mile, this by the way is afghani cuisine not middle eastern. I find Jazeera much better than Afghani Restaurant which is not far and offer same foods. I have been there many times and their qabili and kobeda kebab are always the same, I never got any bad experince there. Good point to mention that their portion is large enough and could be enough for two people. worth trying ;)

This charcoal grill is amazing. For those not fluent in Middle Eastern foods it can seem a tad on the intimidating side. My first visit was punctuated by me pointing randomly at a kofta kebab, as I sat considering what I’d done, it arrived. It was fantastic, the meat was well done on the charcoal grill, along with a big fresh Nan it sat on. To accompany this I had a salad dish with all the great kebab partners such as jalapenos, olives and iceberg lettuce and a little dish of chilli sauce and mint yoghurt. Since this first revelation I’ve turned to Jalzeera many times and tried all manner of things I don’t have a clue about and they’ve been great. The blokes behind the counter are friendly guys and Jalzeera sits alongside falafel in my long hard considerations for a good takeout meal. Walk in point randomly at the menu and enjoy.

I seem to be turning into a serial takeaway fanatic, as I have yet another tale to weave of my time spent within Jazera, a charcoal cuisine along the curry mile. I blame this insurgence of fast food into my life upon Unilocal, solely upon Unilocal, and not at all on any kind of weakness on my own part. All I do, I do for the review. As a charcoal oven takeaway, it has that delicious smell that emanates from the kitchen of slowly burning meat. An aroma that immediately makes one feel hungry, although the prices are a little too steep for my liking. Only a little, but enough to deter me from another visit when there are equally nice and nicer places nearby. Having said that the Kobeda kebab I had was still nice, even if it did deconstruct itself into its constituent parts as soon as I attempted to begin eating. At £3.50 though, I didn’t feel that I could justify the cost again. There’s another charcoal place further down which does them for £3 last time I checked. Unfortunately the name escapes me, though I am certain it does exist.
