This little gem Of a café and takeaway is best in town. Their snacks and dahi baley and chaat is very tasty. Really love their desi chai(tea) too. They do special breakfast menu on particular days, including halwa puri. They also do great biryani. Whenever im around i always pop in. I’d rather go here then nearby restaurants on rusholme. They are far too pricey but not as good. The taste of food is just like home made. And i am a fussy eater. I would rate it 5 star, but the only issue is its small and sometimes waiting time is long. But food is worth the wait.

It seems that size really doesn’t matter in the case of this standard 5* establishment. I rate this place as arguably the best in Manchester for South Asian food. It may look small but it actually caters for more than just sweets and savouries. The samosas, pakoras et al in here are second only to my mum’s cooking, and even that’s saying a lot!!! The food is cooked fresh and has a home cooked flavour to it. There is a selection of pakoras which I urge you to try, mainly chicken, vegetable and potatoe. They are just heavenly. The nan breads are baked fresh and are very tasty. I would also recommend the Shami kebabs which are delightful. I would also recommend something called Aloo chaat, but be warned it is spicy it is a yoghurt vegetable dish which is wholesome and racy in taste and texture. There is also a fruit chaat, which would be a shock to the system for most of you, its a delightful mixture of sweet and spicy flavours. You can purchase something called fruit chaat masala from some of the Asian grocery shops like Worldwide food store and make it yourself. It is delicious if you love spicy food. Highly recommend this place, Longsight isn’t the nicest place in the world, but stop by at this place it’ll be worth it!!!

Despite being just a small shop selling sweet and savoury snacks, Anmol Sweet House always seems to be busy and that’s because it’s brilliant. For just £1 I got a samosa and two onion bajis. For the equivalent at a supermarket you’d be paying at least double that and these tasty little treats are freshly cooked and taste way better than their bland, mass-produced supermarket equivalents. They were spicy and hot. Yum. There’s a few tables opposite the shop’s counter where you can sit and eat your treats, and if you’ve got a sweet tooth then they have a great range of sweet things as well. I haven’t tried these yet, but maybe next time. Anmol Sweet House is a little gem and amazing for a quick snack if you’re in Longsight.

A great snack/sweet centre just opposite longsight market off A6. Newly opened. Has small seating area and caters for asian food. Halal and mostly prepared on the premises. They have snacks, like kebabs, samosas etc and a wide range of asian sweets. They do Anmol specials every Friday i think, Halwa Puri — just go in ask for it. Prices are great too.
