Hooray, us north Manchester dwellers can finally get excellent beer without going into town!
Barbeerian is a great little shop right next to Besses Metrolink stop with beers from across the globe as well as plenty of local options.
Whether you know what you’re after or have no idea about craft beer, Raj is on hand to help. He’s a man who really knows and loves his beer.
The most exciting part is that soon (by the end of March hopefully!) it will also house a tap room. I’m so looking forward to this and will definitely be visiting when it’s open.

BarBeerian is a speciality beer shop in Prestwich which will eventually also have a tap room. The shop is not quite finished yet — there was a definite coating of sawdust, but if you can open for business whilst the finishing touches are being made, then why not.
Having formerly run The Liquor Shop two doors down (this has been replaced by an off-​licence with the dubious name ‘Off E’), the owner Raj decided to focus solely on the craft beer market as it was by far the most popular. TLS used to sell numerous wines and spirits as well.
First and foremost, he’s extremely helpful and will offer suggestions on what you might like to try at a budget you’re comfortable with.
There’s a significant stock of bottled and canned beers on the shelves from lots of well-​known and lesser known breweries in the UK and internationally. I decided to choose some that I already knew and loved and also ones I’d heard were worth a try.
If there’s a particular beer you can’t find, he’d more than likely offer to search it out for you and order it in.
