I really love this café, I moved out of Chorlton and don’t visit very often anymore, but this is, in my opinion, the best place for milkshake! I like the atmosphere in there. The only minor complaint I have is that it’s not very wheelchair friendly, my partner is a wheelchair user and it’s very cramped in there when busy and we have often had to leave as we can’t get up to the additional seating due to the stairs. It’s a shame, but I will still be coming back.

This place is pretty rough around the edges but has its own charm and a decent selection of food and drinks. I opted to go here because I knew they did fresh juices and I was in need of some vitamins and minerals, preferably in a tasty drinkable form. Between two of us we ordered an orange juice, a ginger spice juice, a bacon sausage and egg sandwich and a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel. This came to £13 so it’s not exactly cheap. Then we waited. And waited. The juices turned up fairly swiftly but the food took far longer than it ought to have done. The juices were lovely though. My bagel when it eventually arrived was delicious. Loads of cream cheese and fresh tasty salmon on top of a soft chewy bagel. My dining companion enjoyed his breakfast ciabatta. Overall I thought this was a nice place and I’d be happy to head back. I’m particularly intrigued by their hot juices.

I never went to this place when I actually lived in Chorlton but now that I’ve moved down the road and am currently off the booze(for health reasons), Battery Park seemed like a good place to go. And they do more than just juice, there’s a good selection of teas and coffee, as well as sandwiches, salads and cakes, and at pretty decent prices compared to other cafés in Chorlton. It’s slightly oddly shaped, having to go up a steep staircase to order your food, but they will bring it to your table. There’s even some tables outside, for those rare days when it’s actually dry and warm enough to eat out there. Tis nothing too fancy but it’s a nice little place to go for a brew and a cake and a chat, give it a try

Yet another little Chorlton eatery and drinkery which is always full of yummy mummies and trendy Chorltonites who are inexplicably able to afford to spend all day in cafes despite the fact they appear to have no regular means of income. Although the food menu is not particularly extensive, they serve several sandwiches including plenty of veggie options and a bacon and egg ciabatta sandwich at the weekends. At £4.15 for a tuna toastie this is somewhere I’ve never eaten but I can vouch for the delicious juices and smoothies and the comfy interior of this café. The ginger spice juice is delicious and if you’re suffering the effects of the night before then you can order a ‘detoxifier’. As James states there is also a community notice board to tempt you with all manner of yoga, pilates and Buddhist meditation classes which I’m sure will work wonders alongside your detoxifier. All very Chorlton.

This gorgeous little café has the right idea for me! what with its shabby chic décor to the«to die for” cakes! I have my own smoothie maker at home, and after trying many different variations, I just don’t seem able to recreate my favorite one they serve here(Raspberry Razzle) They also serve up drinks with more than a 5-a-day benefit, with a detox or energy boosting formula. If you are finding it hard to choose between the great selection of lovely sandwiches on offer… then help is on hand with a sandwich of the month option! always very tasty!

I’ve eaten in Battery Park Juice Bar on a couple of occasions. The second time I went was because I enjoyed the first time so much. Battery Park Juice Bar is a dogeared, yet charming little spot, with tables outside in the summer and sofas inside for the loungers. Staff are very friendly here too. Initially I went in to buy a juice, since I’d heard such good things about the berry or ginger options, but when I saw the sandwich of the month, which was The Chicago Muffuletta(Ham, Smoked Cheese, Salami with an Olive salad of Stuffed Green Olives on Ciabatta), I couldn’t resist. It was divine, and I’m sorry, much more filling than any juice could ever be. The second time I came back because I wanted to order the exact same sandwich. As luck would have it, they were still making it. Great little spot to fill the gap.

It really is amazing what a simple notice board will do for your business. Battery Park’s notice board is close to pulling down the support wall upon which it hangs due to the amount of support it is showing for local businesses. That little notice board warmed my cold cold heart, making me feel like I was back living in a time when community spirit still existed. On the strength of this notice board alone I’m awarding the Battery Park Juice Bar five stars and supporting it for next years Nobel Peace Prize– hey, if Obama can win it for nothing more heroic than simply not being George Bush then who knows?! In fact, I might make my own case next year on the grounds that I haven’t been nasty to my little sister in ages and I’m not called Adolf.

Fantastic cakes that are never the same two days running. The coffee is wonderful and as for the smoothies! Oh yes and the sandwiches. Simply stunning. This has a shabby chic feel and there are loads of notices and community items on the huge wall notice board. There are a number of tables and chairs outside. Inside there are a couple of comfy sofas and loads of stuff to read. The staff are really nice and very welcoming. There is no pressure to drink up and go. The counter is up some steep steps but you only go up to order they bring your order to you(good job as I am VERY clumsy!)
