Much larger in size than the Northern Quarter restaurant, this place is amazing(only if you love meat). I called a few weeks in advance to book a table(for tables of six people or more, a £10 deposit per person is necessary). Upon arrival we were shown straight to our table, which was great, especially considering how busy it was — but on a Saturday night, of course that’s expected. We were informed that due to it being a busy night, we were allowed two hours maximum at our table. At first we thought this a bit harsh, however by the time we had eaten(our weight in meat) and finished off our drinks, two hours was the perfect amount of time. You can help yourself to salad and sides at the salad bar, they have things such as chips, salad, pasta, vegetables etc so you can have a taste of other things along with your meat. I love the card at the table: red for no food and green for yes please. So when you’re ready flip it over to green and wait for skewers of a multitude of meat to come your way. I had steak, gammon, chicken wings, sausage, chicken heart and some absolutely delicious lamb. All were cooked to perfection. We were seated right next to the kitchen, which is half good and half bad, because you get to watch the chefs preparing and roasting the meat, however on the other hand, you get all of the heat — and my lord it’s HOT in there. We were very thankful for the air conditioning fans. Overall it was a great and fun experience.

If I hadn’t been to Fazenda in Spinningfields already, Bem Brasil would probably have scored higher. Their concepts are identical(buffet counter and cuts of meat brought to you at your table), but BB just didn’t leave that great an impression on me. In their defence, it was a night during the high-octane Christmas week — so the restaurant was completely full of diners; though I suspect they operate at close to this capacity quite often — it’s a sprawling restaurant. Their main positive is the service, with friendly and efficient wait staff. We were also asked by two different managers if we had everything we needed. What with numerous ‘interruptions’ to be served various meats from skewers, you’re used to having lots of employees visiting your table. Getting to and from the buffet counter was a bit like trying to avoid the obstacles in Total Wipeout. There were dozens of people, staff and customers, on the move in different directions, with some carrying sizzling slabs of meat, armfuls of empty crockery and glasses, or plates piled high with food — it was bordering on high school cafeteria carnage. The food was all fine, as were pretty much all the cuts of meat we had, it’s just that everything we experienced at Fazenda was much better(and they’re not that much more expensive); so given the choice I’d choose them over BB any day.

Solid spot for lunch at 13.99 all you can eat meat and sides. They have a full salad bar, rice, pasta, and other things that really just get in the way of the main event, meat. For each person, there is what looks like a small coaster with a red and green side. This indicates to the meat servers whether you are would like them to stop by your table. The best cuts in my opinion were the sirloin steak, rump steak, and lamb. The sausage was the weakest and not advisable. They have a wonderful pineapple for dessert. Lightly grilled pineapple that has cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on it. Delicious.

Mr. Snarky suggested a «Yay, you got a job!» celebration dinner so I set about looking for a place to go and make reservations. Of course most of my choices didn’t take reservations and I remember how many times we have struck out on a Friday night because we hadn’t made reservations. I narrowed it down and Mr. Snarky and I both seemed to agree it was time for a meat feats, so Bem Brasil it was. You can make reservations online, which is incredibly handy since it shows you all the times that are available! There is also an NCP parking garage a very short walk away from the restaurant, although a bit more expensive than our usual parking spots. When we arrived there were three hostesses to greet us, but had trouble finding our reservation. I was a bit worried, but then one of them said, «Oh here it is!» Downstairs is a bar area, but the main dining area is upstairs. We were a bit surprised at how large the dining area is… it is huge! As we were led to our table we walked by a little portable cocktail station, next to the buffet. How clever! People can watch and hear the cocktails being made and think, «Oooo, I’d like one of those!» When we arrived, they were a bit busy, but about a half hour later, the place was packed! There were couples, families, and even some large groups… one of which looked like a Hen Night. So clearly there is something for everyone. Our drink order was taken straightaway and a basket of hot, fresh-out-of-the-fryer chips was put on our table. While they were very tasty because they were straight out of the fryer, I guess I wondered why chips and why not something a bit more Brazilian? For example another Brazilian Restaurant brings those cheese balls, rice, and plantains to the table, all hot and equally filling as chips. Oh well. The hostess told us all about the process and told us how much dinner was for the night… £25.99 for a Friday night. The buffet… now I know it isn’t the main attraction, but by far this was the best buffet at a Brazilian restaurant that I have been to. Seriously, if they allow you to just eat at the buffet for a discount, I would be happy with that. The beans next to the rice were delicious and I really enjoyed the cod in a coriander and tomato sauce. Mr. Snarky had said something similar about how impressed he was with the buffet as well and really enjoyed the beef stew. I found the cheese balls at the buffet, but they were cold so they didn’t taste as nice as when they come fresh out of the oven. It took awhile for the meat to start coming out, but when it did, we found that some of the waiters didn’t take notice of the cards on the table… one kept stopping and asking even though we had turned our cards to red and another just kept passing us by even though our cards were turned to green. So a bit inconsistent, which is why I did take half a star off. There was an interesting mix of meats, including turkey, which I have never seen at one of these restaurants. It was nice and juicy, but it is turkey… this is another reason why I took another half star off. This is the second most expensive Brazilian restaurant I have been to and while I wouldn’t mind the expense, the difference is that they didn’t seem to have as many nice cuts of meat available. I was a bit surprised when Skirt Steak came along as it is a cheap cut of beef that is usually not very tender. We tried it and it was quite tough. At the prices they are charging, I would have expected a couple more better cuts of meat. I think my favourite piece of meat was what the waiter called Brazilian Steak… it was the one that looked like a Palmier. It was a tad on the salty side, but it was very tender. Second favourite was the sirloin, although the second slice I had was so rare that Mr. Snarky wouldn’t even touch it. The gammon and turkey came around a lot and while they were nice, it really wasn’t what we were there for. The lamb(not the lamb chop) was very tender, but again it was quite salty. After we had been sitting for a little bit with our cards on red, one waiter came by with pineapple. I got excited because at one of the restaurants I went to, they grilled the pineapple, which made it so sweet. This wasn’t quite grilled, but it is warm and juicy and coated on the outside with cinnamon and sugar. It was delicious and a great way to end the meal. They did get our bill wrong and tried to charge us for three meals rather than two, but they were able to correct it. Overall, a nice experience, but I do agree with some in saying that it is a bit on the expensive side.

Where can I start with this Brazilian monster. It is by far one of the most unusual restaurants you will have a step foot in With waiters wondering around with skewers of meat and steaks and chicken. I thought I’d reach heaven. The atmosphere was salsa like and very vibrant ! But bad points are one it is very expensive for what it is but on the other hand you do get good quality meat. Alongside this parking in the city centre but anyway at Bem Brazil it’s even harder as it is prime location on deans gate. The meat is normally tender and succulent and plentiful but it gets to a stage where it is just over eating I like to go but prefer the NQ one then a night of comedy to laugh it off at the frog and bucket. They make a brilliant Mojito and other cocktails but price for weekday evening is staggering high !

A few of us celebrated payday and the end of ‘poverty january’ as we had renamed it, by heading into manchester for meat and drinks at bem brasil. We booked online, were seated straight away on a spacious table and our drink orders were taken. Then off we went to check out the buffet. Great selection of prawn cocktail, veggies, potatoes, grilled mushrooms(yum) and salad. We went back to the table and the meat started coming. Do not come here if you are a vegetarian. You will be fairly limited on what you can eat ! But if you love meat then it is well cooked and delicious(if you like bbq). They have a range of beef, pork, chicken, turkey and lamb, the steaks were cooked brilliantly rare which I loved. The aim is that the servers come round and keep giving you meat until you turn your green/red disc over to show you don’t want anymore. We ate so much we could barely move at the end ! Although we did have space for a few slices of sliced cinnamon pineapple. Upon recommendation of another member of our party, I tried the garlic chicken hearts but these were absolutely disgusting. Way over seasoned and chewy ! At the end of the day this is still a buffet, but it is good quality buffet food. I would come again but you couldn’t do it too often !

For a carnivore like me, Bem Brazil is an absolute treat, and a place you’ll rightly leave feeling a little sore for all the weight you’ve just added! It’s a fantastic place to experience a wide variety of meat cuts and styles, and the vegetarian sidebar serves up some kind of Brazilian Potato Ball that I loved and had to wait 29 years to experience! The final treat — cooked pineapple with extra sugar melted into it, was both delicious and a delightful nod to the theme with the waiter carving slices off like the cuts of meat beforehand. The staff themselves were also great; clearly enjoying themselves while we occassionally dithered over whether to have particular cuts or hold out for more savoury faire. I’ll definitely be revisiting while in Manchester and can’t talk it up enough.

Bem Brasil became the venue for the second of what I hope will become monthly lunchtime visits to quality restaurants around Manchester for me and my work mates. With the success of last month’s outing to Croma, the steaks(sorry — you’ll understand this terrible pun soon) were high for this most meaty of outings. For those of your who aren’t familiar with how it works, you grab a plate, pick some of the tasty sides — rice, olives, a variety of salads and my favourite, polenta chips. These are brilliant, fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside deep fried polenta. They go just fantastically with meat, which coincidentally brings me onto the main part, and main course, of the meal. What sets Bem Brasil apart from other restaurants is the never ending(no, really) array of tasty meat brought straight to your table. During our sitting we were presented with… Lamb, Sirloin Steak, Rump Steak, Gammon, Ham, Sausage, Pork Rib, Beef, Chilli Chicken, Garlic Bread and… er… Pineapple. This was the lunch menu, there’s even more in the evening. It wasn’t one of each of these either, they keep coming round until you ask them to stop. You control the flow of meat by way of a small disc sat on the table. It’s really easy — green means that you want more, red that you don’t. There’s a full bar, with an array of beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks. I’d recommend a Guarana Antarctica — it’s actually Brazils most second most popular soft drink(just behind Coke). If you don’t fancy that, why not go for a Sangria — both wash down the food perfectly. Lastly, a word of warning — you will get very, very full, so a light breakfast may well be in order.

I went twice to this restaurant during lunch time. When you go on lunch they make you feel like you are robbing them and they bring out the food very slowly and they cannot keep up with the people eating there. Most of the staff is very professional but once I complained about my raw meat and returned it and the lady replied in a rude way. The food in under seasoned and I had to tell them several times that I want my meat well done and yet I get it raw. I have been to several Rodizios and this one has to be the worst I have been in.

The first time I went to Bem Brasil I was so drunk I couldn’t really remember it, though I did have this deep seated feeling that I enjoyed what I had lol… It’s taken a while to get back here, and that’s because my usual Friday night Comrades don’t eat on Friday night(much to my disheartened sighs) so when I got a txt this friday suggesting Bem Brasil, despite being absolutely knackered I said ‘YES!!!‘ The first thing you must know about Bem Brasil is… Bring your appetite, it would be utterly pointless coming unless you’re up for a big feed. You’re paying just shy of £25 for an all you can eat affair. As long as you’ve got the hunger you can make this all brilliant in your face. The meats that come round are great, and they certainly aren’t stingy, at some points we were waving off meat there was so much coming round. While my mates generally just sit there waiting for as much meat to come to them as possible, a couple of us also took advantage of the buffet too, which again is actually very tasty. Drinks are typical Manchester prices, we all had a a beer and a cocktail each and our total per head came to £38, so about 13 something quid on drinks, maybe we’ll leave out the cocktails next time: p stick to the cheaper beers. As long as you’re on for a meat fest and make the most of the all you can eat you should be pretty happy going to Bem Brasil

It would be remiss of me not to mention that since I wrote my review I happened upon this place, by chance, on the last Thursday of the month. This is of note because The Samba Dancers do their thang as they shake, shimmer and cause any food you are about to eat to take its time reaching your mouth. ;-) My oh my, I recommend any chaps to wear a babys plastic scoop bib for food droppage — and you *will* drop some if you linger on these lovely ladies as they add to the lively samba atmosphere. I have never seen so many miniscule body parts going in opposite directions at the same time. My only saving grace was that I had called in just to have a coupla cocktails and not eat… had I been eating that night I may well have had trouble locating my fizzer with my fork. :-D

Been to the Bem Brasil in Northern Quarter and this is very similar. This one is a lot bigger. When we went upstairs I was surprised at how big it was. The selection at the buffet was pretty good. Included the usual salads, potatoes, tomatoes, sweetcorn,…Plus things like cod, rice and paella. The meat which came around included sausages, pork, garlic beef, Brazilian beef etc. Some meats were better than others but overall it was very salty. (If I could give this ½ marks I would give this 3.5÷5)

Meh is a good description for this restaurant. Based on the other reviews, maybe I just caught them on a bad day. I didn’t find the staff particularly welcoming or attentive. The restaurant was EMPTY but they were very vocal at telling us that since we didn’t have a reservation that we’d need to be out at said appointed time to make way for the people who did. Let’s just say– the nearly two hours we were there(30 minutes past the deadline we supposedly had but we could barely flag down a waiter to get a drink), didn’t see the restaurant get any busier than us and the handful of other diners who had wandered in for a late lunch /early dinner. Sure, the sheer amount of food is enough to make any ravenous person’s head spin, but it’s not particularly fantastic, or an authentic representation of Brazilian food. I found the meat to be overcooked and under seasoned, the veggies to be uninspiring(granted, you do not go there for anything but the meat) and the drinks to be overpriced(although admittedly, they do have a prolific drinks menu). Take this with a grain of salt– I am not particularly fond of all you can eat establishments; the revolving door of food makes me a little sick– probably because I feel the need to eat myself sick to get my money’s worth. But if you’re after endless food that is passable but nothing to write home about, this is your place.

Great grilled meats, friendly staff but lacking in authentic sauce selection. Having been to other Brazilian bbqs I was excited to try Bem Brasil. The meat was very nice but my server did cut it strangely thick which isn’t as enjoy for the meat types on offer. Still, the quality is there however the absence of chimichurri, the traditional BBQ sauce is a huge letdown. Seriously, how the f can you not have chimichurri!? There is mint sauce for the lamb but nothing on offer to compliment the beef, chicken or pork and for that’s an epic fail. Where they shine well is the selection of salads, beans and rice. The black beans with slow cooked pork are incredible. Get some sauces for the meats and simply put salt and pepper on the tables. I will be back to Bem Brasil, but Ill probably look like a weirdo as i will have brought my own sauce. Then again, maybe this review will influence them. Not!

Bem Brasil is not for the faint hearted. Or for Vegetarians come to think of it. But if you wake up in the middle of the night with insatiable urges for huge cuts of grilled meat and offal, it’s the only place to go. It styles itself as being a ‘traditional’ Brazillian Churrascaria(steak house), where beef, pork, lamb and every conceivable animal which can be put a spit and grilled to within an inch of its life is served up for the delectation of hungry diners. And I highly recommend that you starve yourself for a good few days before coming here — otherwise you’ll be getting the meat sweats before you can truly savour the amazing culinary fare on offer. How it works is this — you enter the restaurant and outline which meal deal you’d like. £30 should allow you to eat pretty much everything, and even top up your plate with fresh bread, vegetables and a large bowl of ‘feijoada’ to wet your appetite. Throughout the course of the meal, men will come around with huge skewers packed to the rafters with sizzling meat. If you want some of what they’ve got, you turn your placemat ‘paddle’ to green. If you feel as though you’re going to die if you consume another beef heart, then turn your ‘paddle’ to red. The quality of the meat is — for the most part — good(I particularly like their plump herby sausages) if not amazing. But really, the best thing about Bem Brasil is that it’s a truly fun eating experience, and a really great place to go if you and a group of people are looking for something a little bit different on a fun night out. Oh, and they do pretty damn good cocktails too — particularly the Caipirinhas. Blimey!

Enter here with an empty stomach! Set in the heart of the city centre you are immediately seated in the spacious Brazilian surroundings on the upper floor of the restaurant and you are promptly greeted by your drinks waiter. There is also a walkaround cocktail waiter who prepares the most potent potions right before your very eyes. Forget Tom Cruise in Cocktail, these mixologists are magicians! Now for the FOOD! Or banquet would be more appropriate. Diners are presented with a little disc, the green side indicating you want more food, the red sign means you are full to capacity. There are fifteen different cuts of meat and they are presented on long skewers and carved at your table. I was too timid to try the chickens’ hearts but the steak and chicken wrapped in bacon was to die for! The service is incredible, the meat just keeps on a coming and there is also a buffet you can visit as often as you like serving rices, pastas, salads etc. For only £22.50 per head it is excellent value and Bem Brasil is a totally unique dining experience, the biggest and best barbeque of them all!

As a pescetarian, somewhere which serves as much meat as you can eat didn’t really appeal to me all that much. However, work was paying, so I went along for the craic. My team all had the rodizio(all you can eat meaty bbq) which is on offer at £12.50 at lunchtimes. Luckily, I was allowed to opt for the full-price fish menu, which cost £22.50 for a plate of fish which included a large chunk of salmon and some monster prawns. For the meat-eaters, the passadores(servers) constantly came around and served sausages and steaks galore, which they cut at the table, until our allotted time was up. I turned my little sign to the red ‘nao obrigado’ but they still persisted in asking me if I wanted the meat each time they brought it round, and even dripped blood on my arm and bag. Good job I’m not one of those fussy vegetarian types or I would’ve kicked up a stink. The best part about this restaurant(along with the tasty fish) is the buffet. With the meat and fish options you are also allowed to visit the buffet as many times as you want, which is packed with soups, breads, salads, couscous, potatoes, vegetables… etc. Everything was tasty and fresh but obviously there to make you over-load on carbs so that you don’t eat as much meat! I would strongly recommend the cinnamon-coated grilled pineapple for afters. Yum. A must for dedicated carnivores, and still worth a visit for others too.

Definitely one for meat lovers, this Brazilian restaurant and bar just off Deansgate is much more preferable to the Argentinian offering of Gaucho a few streets along. The atmosphere is cool — more relaxed and welcoming. Everyone just seems to be having a good, exotic time. Definitely one for meat lovers, here you can eat tons of BBQ’d beef, chicken, pork, lamb whatever takes your fancy in the upstairs restaurant. Wash it down with a tasty caiprinha of your choice(there are many) — one of my favourite cocktails and particularly tasty here. The downstairs bar is open till late and nice to go to for a bit of grown up fun: put it this way I’ve never got beyond tipsy here. They have live music Thurs/Fri/Sat and a VIP area to hire for those who don’t want to mingle with the plebs. Good option for central dinner and drinks.

I had heard about this place long before I ever went. Long before I even move to the city. A young guy who worked for the agency that was helping my girlfriend switch jobs had come over all too familiar and started to drool about«this AMAZING place where you just get loads of meat until you’re sick!». Now this lad didn’t have look of a wizard or the years behind him to be considered a true sage but he is, I found out to my eye watering delight, honest as the day is long. Bem Brasil serves meat until you’re sick, then the über manly staff challenge you to eat more. There isn’t just meat, there’s other stuff but let’s be honest, if you’re there then you KNOW why you’re there!
