Well you all know what Boots sell in terms of toiletries, makeup, medicine etc. It’s usually good value and for some reason Boots seem more trustworthy than other similar stores. But let’s talk about the food. If you’re in the Piccadilly/Northern Quarter area you probably really should find somewhere more exciting for your lunch. And yet some days you just want something easy, convenient, quick, and reliable. That’s when grabbing a meal deal is a great choice. I would recommend checking out the new Nutritious range, aimed at providing a balanced meal with each item providing at least one of your 5 a day. I went for a Wensleydale cheese and beetroot wrap, a pot of beans and hummus, and a kale and apple juice. All really tasty as well as being good for you. Another great thing about the meal deals is that you can get drinks which are otherwise pretty pricey(e.g. Naked/Innocent smoothies) within the deal, making it really good value. The staff in this particular Boots are always really friendly too, even when it gets busy.

They do the meal deals, they have all the key brand things you may need and even a make up selection. For a small store it has«what you need» — if you need to browse, you’re better off going to the bigger store with everything plus one at the bottom of the long street. The staff are helpful and it even has a small pharmacy.

Boots pharmacy well at least the second on the same street with about 200 metres between each. This is like a mutated smaller version of the gigantic mega dega super duper store a couple of doors down. They do alright sandwiches, every variety of chemical or device that serves to alleviate you of problems with your body and they process your photos from your old film camera. Come on its boots, you know the drill.

I probably waste more money here than any other shop in Manchester. It’s a tiny store, much smaller than its big sister on Market Street, but it opens at 7.30am daily and I have to pass it every morning on my way to work! Although small, this branch is perfectly formed with a photo counter, pharmacy and rows of fridges reserved for Boots’ famous meal deals. Obviously, they can’t offer as wide a selection of toiletries and make-up as the store down the road can, but there’s still a great selection of branded and own-label products. So it’s the perfect place to grab a few bits if you can’t be bothered trudging around a massive store.

I can understand why, as Sarah points out, this place is always packed with office workers, as the position is prime for stealing them all off the streets during their lunch break. At the end of the day, it’s a Boots, and therefore stocks everything you would expect a Boots to stock. Toiletries, food, hair gel, medicines. All at the fairly typical low Boots prices. It’s a useful place to drop into should you be hungry and passing by as the meal offer thing they have going is quite good. I’m going to agree with Sarah, though, and say that if you’re looking for an actual shopping experience, then the Boots at the end of Market Street is a much better layout and overall shop.

If you’re looking to browse for beauty products or toiletries, head for the flagship Boots store at the bottom of Market Street. It’s more spacious and relaxed than this branch which seems constantly bustling with shop assistants and office workers popping in during their breaks. If you can cope with long queues, tutting customers and the odd elbow in your ribs, this Boots stocks everything from contact lenses, vitamins and make-up to a whole plethora of beauty and body products. There’s also a pharmacist where you can pick up and drop off prescriptions and a photo lab for those that still prefer film to digital.
