You don’t go to all you can eat buffets for top notch food so guess I cant complain too much for getting food for a few quid. Went with some friends after watching the football. They had been before and were«fans» of all you can eat buffets. Being Chinese, I dont tend to go that often to buffets as its not normally that good and I can make better food myself. The food tends to be greasy/salty/full of MSG. There are some Chinese buffets better than others. Some have a big selection, some actually have good that tastes half decent. Anyway, the food at Buffet Metro was rubbish. Very salty and didnt taste particularly good. I did eat a few dishes though but I was hungry so I had to eat something! The choice of food wasnt great and didnt look very nice. The usual fried rice, noodles, beef and black bean, sweet and sour pork. However, some odd dishes such as mixed veg(which was mainly sprouts — not the first type of veg you think for Chinese food), sausages ???, and what looked like hash browns. I tried sweetcorn soup and it was bright yellow. Tasted salty and fake. The actual restaurant was in need for a lick of paint! The walls all dirty and needing a wipe, the drinks menu on the table was all smudges, dirty and faded. The table number was ripped and grease all on it! We went during happy hour so it was £4.95. With a drink it was about £6.30.

I LOVE Chinese food… I can eat an unfeasible amount of the stuff… enter Buffet Metro! It looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but don’t be fooled … and please do not tar it with the same brush as all those other buffets where the food is generally of poor quality and somewhat dried out! This place definitely sets itself apart from all the others in Manchester!(and about time too!) With such a central location in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens, it is easy to find and is within walking distance of the main shopping centre, the Northern Quarter and Piccadilly train station, so you should never be short of an excuse to pop in… especially also as prices for a sit down meal start at £4.95 Unbelievably, there are actually 60 freshly prepared hot and cold Chinese starters, mains, sides and desserts on offer! Starters include a good selection of Soups, Spare Ribs, Crispy Seaweed, Aromatic Duck, Satay Sticks, and Steamed Dumplings. Over 30 mains are available including Honey Roast Pork, Lemon Chicken in Satay Sauce, Kung Po Chicken, Squid with Pepper and Garlic Sauce, and Chilli Chicken. Deserts, salads, wines, and beers are also available.

Came here today with my mum and was disgusted! It was dirty! And DON’T come here if you’re vegetarian, although they offer plenty of choice on their website for vegetarians including tofu dishes and veggie noodles, they had NO tofu and the vegetable dishes they did have looked soggy and horrible! Ended up having a plate of chips and rice, and the chips were undercooked. Plus the place looked really dirty and my mum found dried food on her glass Quite politely told the staff at the end that we were disappointed and that their online menu is misrepresentative but they weren’t bothered in the slightest, didn’t even look us in the eye. Wish I’d read the review that another veggie left a few months ago for this place, sounds like they had exactly the same experience!
