I called in Carluccio’s on a recent trip to the trafford centre, looking for a safe place to eat some gluten free food. Having bad good experiences with branches in Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly, I thought I’d give this branch a try. This branch is located inside The Trafford Centre’s «Great Hall» and although it is meters away from the central, fast food part of the Orient, it is a much quieter place, making it a good place to have a bit of peace in the Trafford Centre, which we all know is more mayhem than a primary school reception class. The service here was reasonably quick, and the staff seemed nice /helpful, however this was mainly down to this restaurant being as quiet as a library, ironically in a shopping centre, as busy as the attractions in Rome. I ordered a GF Carbonara, having noticed they had a good gluten free menu, although it would have been nice to see pizza on the menu, as this is an italian chain, I still looked forward to having pasta gluten free, as it is something I rarely have. The pasta was quite nice, and it was better than the GF Carbonara I had on a recent trip to Rome(So nice job Carluccio’s), I also found it to be very cheap for gluten free food and restaurants, costing around £8, which easily could have been 30 — 50 percent more elsewhere. I like the addition of parmesan cheese, and overall it was good quality. Even as not a big fan of bacon, I enjoyed it being added into my meal. This is also quite a nice restaurant in general, due to limitations with it being inside«The Great Hall», it does not consider the traditional Carluccio’s layout, but seems a nicer place, and a little more high-end and posh(although as far as I’m aware the prices are the same!) If you’re looking for a nice place to eat in the Trafford Centre, which has MOST items reasonably priced, I’d say here is your best shot, but still I can’t give more than 3 stars due to some minor problems, and an issue when paying on my card, meaning I had to tick a box to tip when paying on my card(I only paid on my card to avoid giving a tip, but felt like I couldn’t refuse when they was a waiter standing there and even pointed it out to me)

Not impressed at all, don’t know if it was just my taste but that was awful I ordered fresh cod with peas with miniature lettuce it tasted like it was all dropped in olive oil and fried very poorly then presented in a sophisticated chef way. Then we ordered the desert which was just filth mush with a mint leaf. Then charged £50 for the privilege to dine first and last visit

Came here expecting very little to be honest. How wrong could I be? We were told that we’d have to wait half an hour as they were so busy and this gave us time to study the menu and have a good look-see at the food being delivered and watching how the customers were tucking in. That was fun; people were happy and the food looked good. That started my turn around! We ordered a sharing mixed salad board and what came was a joy! The look of it was fabulous and the quality and quantity of the board was top notch. I had sparkling water(driving!) and my wife had a glass of house white(it was ok). I ordered spaghetti carbonara which was lacking in seasoning and needed more egg yolks for my liking but the pasta and pancetta was excellent. My wife had a Gorgonzola, pancetta and walnut salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. Anyway, 2 courses each, 2 bottles of sparkling water, 2 large glasses of wine cost us £55. Very reasonable. Please go there — it’s a lot better than you’d think! Both stuffed to the gills!

After eating at Carluccios so many times in Qatar, it was finally time to try it England where it originally began! Carluccios is a chain that has an Italian restaurant plus a little shop selling good Italian foods. Everything is fresh and well made and this location did not disappoint. We got an insalata verde, salad with parmesan cheese, to start which was a good size and delicious. I got my favorite, spaghetti pomodoro, which isn’t on the menu but as Italy’s most simple and famous dish, they don’t mind making it for me! It was perfect and fresh and as it should be. My friend got the spinach and ricotta ravioli and they also tasted as they should. Everything was great and our waiter was also very kind. The prices are decent for England, but perhaps a little more pricy than it should be for Italian food… Anyway, this was definitely a great spot for getting away from the bustle of the busy shopping mall around and very enjoyable.

This is a lovely italian based on the ground level of the Great Hall and its one of many chains of the great italian chef Antonio Carluccio. You can stop by here for breakfast before a shopping trip or business meeting or have a lovely leisurely lunch or dinner here also. The décor is very colourful and there is a selection of italian produce for sale at one end of the restaurant. Its got a lovely wine list and the coffee is great. The pasta is always fresh and I am delighted with the food I have been served here. The waitress service is attentive and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Carluccio’s is situated in the Trafford Centre. The staff were obviously proud of their restaurant and were extremely motivated to ensure your food was right. I have visited twice now, with my compliments to the chef on both occasions. The food was extremely fresh and tasted divine! Unfortunately with the venue being the Trafford Centre, you will never get a romantic atmospherebut then again, Italian restaurants aren’t supposed to be quiet!!!

Like Emmaextremely dissappointed! The first time I went to this chain restaurant it was in central London, Oxford street and it was lovely, I especially loved the pannacotta! It came to manchester and was very excited. but unfortunately it wasnt the same, service was very poor, food was not cooked right and the flavour of the pannacotta was ratherstail! What a difference for a restaurant serving the same food! I hear the food is not freshly cooked too, just warmed up

Fantastic food, great selection and helpful staff. I went with a disabled person and the staff went out of their way to help us get through to our seats and to manouvre around and even gave us the best directions out. The food came quickly and was delicious. Highly recommended!
