It’s a lovely sunny day for travelling and I’m stuck inside this terminal. Having a good look round eventually I decided a coffee pit stop was required until boarding. I stood at the queue having a look at the cakes at the till, realised there were 2 tills and unsure what to do I hoovered around the nearest one. Was told to go back into the middle to wait for the next available till. My face must’ve said it all because he then forced a smile and said please. The other side happened to be free first so she called next, I ordered a flat white. It just tastes like a latte One star for the view.

The coffee is poor tasting because the water quality is poor. They need filtered water. Very noticeable sour taste with double espresso probably not so noticeable if milk is added. I also had an almond croissant, and it seemed stale the almond certainly wasn’t generous either. I notice this with Costa: more generally their stuff not as good as nor as fresh as Starbucks but a premium price is charged. Being at a busy airport the queue is long but moves reasonably fast. Biggest delay is disorganised passengers pulling bags fumbling for money or credit card. It’s amazing with people queuing for about 8 – 10 minutes yet they don’t use this time to organise the means of payment. It’s difficult though for people to pull a case or two along and coffee and food on s tray in a fairly confined space. A good thing here is that there’s a bank of 13 amp plugs for european phone/computer chargers. The staff are under continual pressure but remain a cheerful bunch. Isn’t it a telling thing that those on minimum wage and lousy conditions can present a cheerful public image?

Right. What is it about coffee shops that makes people moan about global capitalism? Eh? Why does everyone do it? I know that multinationals and giant corporations dominating the market are bad for everyone. Its bad economically, its boring, its ruining livelihoods. I know all this. It’s the dreadful world we live in and I’m well up for doing something about it, such as boycotting such places. But… Why does everyone make coffee shops the locus of their concern for the condition of the capitalist world? Its ridiculous. No one is standing outside KFC saying that they’re ruining the livelihood and originality of all the independent fried chicken shops such as Kansas Fried Chicken and Krispy Fried Chicken are they? So why are people always on about coffee shops? Middle class people, drinking lots of coffee(instead of working) in an independent business and feeling good about it, then going next door to Boots without realising it’s the same thing, and trotting of home feeling high and mighty. Woooooooooooooooooooo! Costa sells nice coffee, Boots sells nice plasters, KFC sells nice chicken.

Right I am on a one women mission to stop everyone going to these a– unimaginative b– costly c– typical coffeeshops. Just don’t do it guys stay at home and drink a cup of freeze dried coffee if you cant be bothered to find a good local coffee shop that really cares. Oh my little face is red… feel my thunder !

Costa coffee is a really relaxing place to have a coffee and a cake. The décor is great and its always very clean inside with helpful and friendly staff. I think the coffee tastes better than Starbucks and it’s not quite as expensive. They also do a great range of cakes and biscuits. The caramel slice is especially tasty! You can also buy their coffee in bags to take home if you want.

Costa Coffee is somewhere I go because its not Starbucks!(joke) no, I go because it is better quality coffee but nearly the same price as Nero and Starbucks. The décor is more relaxing and they are generally quieter than other coffee shops. They do great food as well and I love going there to read a paper. They could lower the price a bit though, but I think that for all coffee shops. The staff are always very friendly and work very hard so I always leave a tip. Recommended.

Costa Coffee may not be as well known as Starbucks but it’s certainly up there with the quality. The food menu is superb, offering something for everyone. As well as coffees there are different sorts of teas, including herbal(for all you hippies out there!). There are other drinks such as hot chocolate with marsh mellows. There’s a large range of soft drinks available such as coke and lemonade etc. The coffee is Italian so it should be good! All in all there’s a huge range for the coffee lover. Try it and you’ll love it!

Costa is the budget of all coffee shops, but that doesnt mean your compromising on quality! Its cost effient and if you get the top-upcards from the store and put on £5 you get £2 free extra i think?

firstly they do the best banoffee frescato. Mmmmmmmm! Anyways, they do a good variety of cakes biscuits etc. and have good coffees, although nothing extraordinary really apart from the banoffee frescato, but personally i prefer nero or starbucks. Still not a bad coffee shop, and they always have polite staff. so cant really complain.

Crash out here and grab a caffeine fix before heading to the coach station which is located on the floor below. A reasonably sized café with large glass windows and comfy chairs. A cute little sparrow was couch hopping but it was pretty harmless and didn’t drop one in my iced frappé. The staff were friendly to the customers but clearly not to each other. There are cakes and sandwiches on sale but don’t expect tasty bargains. In this place you can expect your average tastes for silly prices.
