Nicely decorated inside, when we arrived no one was at the reception. Waited for a while before someone came over to seat us. The food took a long time to arrive. The server did mention they were busy. I saw a couple arrive after us and they had their food arrive before ours ! Don’t come here if you have a party of more than 4 people. Unless your happy to wait for 40 mins for you food.

I am happy to admit that I have a soft spot for Beefeaters as I have rarely been let down by them and have some fond memories. Sadly I seem to have found the rotten apple in the Beefeater barrel. We decided to dine here following a trip to Coronation Street and how I wish I could’ve been in the Rovers sampling a good honest hotpot. I’m used to the slightly high prices in Beefeaters but normally I can at least take solace in the fact that i get a decent meal but tonight I was faced with a rather dry piece of chicken accompanied by bland coleslaw and a handful of uninspiring fries. The side salad which was promised for three of our meals never materialised and when i mentioned this and asked for a reduction in the bill the manager valued their side salad at 50p and proceeded to reduce each affected meal by 33p. it seems the manager is already aware of the true worth of the food they are serving! The service also left a lot to be desired. We were told when we arrived that there might be some delay as they had a large group in but the restaurant was half empty and the staff were still not around. Best kept secret of the night: We had paid for bottomless soft drinks but didn’t know this until we got the bill.

After a poor experience at the Chadderton branch, I decided to give Beefeater another try, this time at the branch which is opposite Heaton Park, where events such as Parklife(hopefully not for much longer) occur. The main reason of me coming here as they offered my friend a free birthday meal, they do do a lot of things if you are holding a loyalty card and have friends and families birthdays signed up, such as free starters, desserts and kids meals. As with the Newport and Chadderton branches, service was quite slow and poor, with the waitress who sat me down barely listening to me, asking me if I want something and giving it me anyway even after I said no, and daurderling to give me the dietary book when I said«I am fine and didn’t want to speak to a manager» If it wasn’t for the staff, especially the woman who sat me down, this place would of got a much higher rating. When I finally did get the allergy book, like in the Newport branches, it was so small and hard to see, mainly because of it being in black and white and the original colours not coming out to well, I find it is disgraceful to make it so small and hard to see for allergy sufferers, when for an extra not even pounds, they could print it out in colour, they did print a few pages out but that was mainly desserts and probably under 10 percent of the pages. They print everything out in color and this is an act of discrimination from the franchise, I believe which also puts down the rating for this branch, the same with Newport. The pricing for what should be a family restaurant was quite high, I admit you could get a steak meal for £9.99, which is good value however a salmon meal, with the salmon not being the best of quality, with potatoes which although they were great they was barely anything there and chips were needed and a sauce, which although nice for the potatoes wasn’t great with salmon is pretty pricey. I admit they have to make their money back for free promotional meals but honestly they still need to charge realistic prices, with my meal although being enjoyable, it was a small portion and I needed extras such as a dessert(bought a carrot cake from ASDA so it wasn’t needed to have it here) and I rarely eat dessert and a portion of chips, which were very nice for gluten free. Most of my meal was very nice and my friends enjoyed there but still the food could be much better, which could push up the rating. Reasons I can’t give more than 2 stars: — Price and portion of other items than its speciality Steak need looking at — The service was dreadful, with staff ignoring me and dauderling in a restaurant which wasn’t too busy. — Free wifi was quite poor so I had to do abit of switching around and connect to the Premier Inn wifi next store. — The salmon wasn’t the greatest quality and the sauce(although nice) wasn’t great with salmon and the best thing about my meal,(potatoes) were just 2 tiny pieces and I did have to order a portion of chips on top of the £12.49 I paid for my meal, which honestly isn’t necessary. — Cold drinks are mainly bar drinks and the Beefeater«Super Juice» or whatever it is called, if you exclude that(I hated it when I had it at Newport) and fizzy drinks, all you have left if J20 and honestly, when I am having a meal, coffee doesn’t really go with it so serving Costa Coffee is only good if you call in for a coffee(highly unlikely) or a breakfast(This is the resturaunt of the Premier Inn and its breakfasts are served in here and this service is also avaliable to non Premier Inn guests)

This is one of the closest establishments to my parents home(within 5 mins walk) Recently renovated it has a cosy bar area as well as a number of dining areas Good selection of beers and a formula menu from which the kitchen consistently turns out decent quality fare This place is very well managed, and a delight in an area where attentive management is at a premium

good place to take the kids after a day in heaton park, loads of choice of cheap food that you expect from a beefeater and very child friendly.

Another lovely Beefeater pub with the usual offers. the staff are polite and the pub and toilets are clean and tidy. The food is normal beefeater standard and in my opinion good food at good prices. Its not too far from the tram stops and theres a lodge next door if you’re looking for somewhere to stay on the outskirts of manchester. And of course its on the door step of the beautiful heaton park.

This is a nice local pub. It is normally pretty quiet in here, except the odd friday and saturday nights when it might get a bit lively! The prices are average for a pub, so its not too bad for a night out. They serve food throughout the day and into the early evening, and its nice pub food too! They have a small beer garden which doubles as the smoking area since the ban! Again the staff are really friendly!
