Lansdowne Hotel

Unfortunately I have never stayed in this hotel, but I have been to the bar, and as no-​one else has review it, I shall say a few words regarding my experience there.
I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but myself and a few mates wanted somewhere quiet to drink and the Ram & Shackle was absolutely Rammed. At this time Red Rum, which is located underneath this hotel, was not yet opened. Anyway we knocked on the door and asked if it would be possible, as we were just 4 guys having a quiet chat, to have a drink in the bar. We were admitted.
The barman was a charming man keen to serve all our needs, even giving us some exciting shots for a reduced price. He then told us that he is the owner not only of the hotel but also of forthcoming Red Rum and the Ram & Shackle. We were impressed but didn’t believe him when he said they were making a club under the hotel. Turns out we were wrong.
So this excellent charming businessman owns three businesses and two are famous successes. The other is a normal looking hotel, but if you aren’t looking for extravagance I would recommend it, if only for the extensive bar and the charm of its proprietor. You may even fancy trying the old ‘can we come in for a quiet drink’ trick if you fancy somewhere you haven’t drank before.
