I began to wonder if I had imagined seeing this new laser quest place(arena? zone? venue? room? facility? I’m not sure of the technical lingo) after a visit to the adjacent bowling alley at Parrs Wood. I couldn’t find any evidence of its existence online, so was unable to book ahead. But I managed to recruit 3 friends, who had previously enjoyed shooting me in the laser quest opposite the Ritz in town before it closed down, to come and investigate with me. On arrival it looked like the Laser Quest hadn’t yet opened. I apologised, and we decided to go bowling instead. After queuing up in the queue for our clown’s shoes, I asked the assistant when the laser quest would open. She made a quick phone call, and before we knew it we were watching the safety video and getting ready to shoot each other with the brand new high-tech equipment. It was quite a tiring 20 minutes as the venue was clearly designed for more than 4 people. We played a 2 on 2 team game with two people protecting the respective bases and the other two running(ahem, I mean walking quickly) around the obstacles to attack the opposition’s bases. It was really good fun, and at around £4 a game it was good value too(and my team won). The staff were friendly and professional(after we had finally located them). Maybe business has picked up now, but with a little more advertising this place could be a really popular addition to the Parrs Wood complex.
