Laura Richardson is an artist based at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Working mainly with oil paint, she mixes in metallic powders which create shiny bronze and copper tones. Recurring themes include flowers, nature and urban landscapes. Commissions are welcomed here and Laura will talk you through the options. For example, she can work from a photograph to create something personal and unique. Allow about a month though, as the oils take a while to dry. Prices are extremely reasonable, considering the amount of work that goes into these pieces. They start at around £80 for a canvas. Or, if you’re a bit strapped for cash, there’s a good range of cards that you can choose from instead.
