Down a cul-de-sac in Levenshulme, in the grounds of the Klondyke Club you’ll find the local Beer Festival. For £3 entry and using tokens in exchange for your drinks(the bars are cashless) you can try some of the 50 beers, dozen ciders and even gin in a family-friendly atmosphere. There is seating provided outside on the club’s bowling green but expect those to be snapped up quickly — if the weather is dry consider bringing your own picnic blanket or camp chairs if you wanted to sit down. There are tables and chairs inside the main beer tent, but it gets busy in there, especially into the evening. There were three food stalls there on the Saturday, the usual burgers /hotdogs, that type of thing. Later on the tunes were pumped up and it was a great atmosphere inside the tent. It may not be my favourite NW beer festival but it’s definitely worth going, the beers from BlackJack Brewery alone are pretty epic. Tip: ask for half pints instead of pints, you’ll save on tokens as you tend to get more than a half poured for you — plus it’s better for your health ;)
