Recently popped here on my lunch hour with a friend, who recommended the place or should I say plaice… I digress… I ordered the Chicken kebab with Naan and had the yoghurt and chilli sauce. I actually thought it was quite tasty. The chicken wasn’t flavoured the best, but mixed with the yoghurt and chilli it wasn’t half bad. Some of the chicken was quite charred/chewy — which i actually quite like but I can see this putting a lot of people off. I’m glad I gave it a try! I’m going to make my way around all that the Arndale Market has to offer to offer then I’ll be able to decide who is the King!

Yuck! I asked for a cheeseburger and chips. The burger was put in a deep-fryer, in the same basket as the chips! The texture of it was horrible, and it tasted very cheap and bland. The chips somehow managed to have the consistency of licquorice, but greasy, and again with no flavour or crunch. The cheese was a single limp slice of processed cheese just plopped on top, then covered in salad, despite me asking for none. The can of Coke was nice though. I thought the Arndale’s food market was good food places, but this was just a low quality high-street place, and cost £4.40 that would’ve been better off spent elsewhere! One star and 4 yucks!

As if there weren’t enough kebab places in town already, there’s even one in the Arndale centre now. I think I would always head round the corner to Kebaish Express, which has a superior selection than The Market Plaice. The Market Plaice offers a small range of chicken kebabs as well as various lunch dishes like spaghetti bolognaise and curry dishes. That says to me that they might night be the best at anything here really, though I had a tub of pasta here once and it wasn’t too bad. It just wasn’t particularly exciting. The Market Plaice is really conveniently located but there’s more exciting lunches to be had very much nearby, inside the Arndale and in nearby streets as well.
