This Morrisons store is on the corner of Manchester Piccadilly Gardens, near both Bella Italia and Zizzi. It is a good sized store for a «local», «corner shop» and is the only non– Tesco supermarket in Manchester city centre, it seems like but this isn’t used to their advantage. The space is mainly used up by a food and drink bar, I wouldn’t risk eating at them with cross contamination being high, I feel another food place in Manchester really isn’t needed and this space should be used as a grocery shop, top up items for when in the city, not just another jacket potato and coffee bar in a small supermarket. The staff didn’t seem to stand out or possess a good knowledge of store products. This store does accept Morrisons cards, as they price match Aldi and Lidl but I really dislike this promotion as you have to gain 500(£5) in points before your first voucher and unlike ASDA, they say they are cheaper and not 10 percent cheaper. If you want a quick coffee machine, this could be the store for you, as well as picking up some minor groceries, but if you have dietary requirements it is quite poor, the gluten free section of such was terrible. Out of many«local» cornershops in Manchester, this store ranks across the worse and still doesn’t even beat some stores like Manchester Mini Market(independant), Tesco and The Co-operative which are also very close to this store in question. I don’t feel it is so bad that it deserves 1 star, but I would recommend to avoid this branch in question and do feel it deserves no more than 2 stars.
