After reading the reviews of this hotel i was in doubt of booking it! It look liked the only decent on in the centre at a decent price. The reception is on the 2nd floor. I found the staff helpful and she had booked me in a room on the 9th floor! not that bad since the lifts are there. As soon as i entered the room i felt as if i was in the north pole, the AC was on at a freezing temp. after fiddling around the AC dials for 5 mins the room then soon warmed up. The room décor is ok but the size seems a bit small(not a problem since I’m alone here for business) When i booked the hotel i read that the hotel has FREE wifi though out but when i asked reception she said the wifi was free at the bar and not in the room which is RUBBISH! I am sitting here writing this review from the bar on the 3rd floor. I have to agree with Emma-Louise that the curly pattern on the bar carpet is a bit dated! The good this about this hotel is that it is in the centre which is close to a lot of restaurants etc which i will be checking out tonight! Over all i rate this hotel a 3 out of 5.

It’s a Ramada, right? It’s not going to blow your socks off but it will suffice for somewhere central and comfortable to stay in the city centre. You might even be able to pick up a decent rate online. You won’t get much attention from the staff unless you’re lucky. The place is huge and they’ve not much interest in making you feel special. It looks mostly horrible from the outside, but inside it’s not half bad and the rooms range from ok to decent. I’ll stay again, but not for a special occasion.

I stayed at this hotel for one evening when going on a hen do in Manchester. I had booked a double and got two single beds pushed together?! It may as well have been a single as it was too uncomfortable to sleep in the middle, so I was crammed to one side. Having said that, the room was very smart and clean and had a flat-screen TV, tea coffee selections, iron all the other basics you would expect. I spent very little time in the room but when we returned at 2am was very quiet — obviously this may be different at the weekend what with all the revellers you will find haunting this area of town. I Paid about £50 at late rooms — which was a real bargain as you can pay that for The Britannia Hotel on the other side of Piccadilly gardens that doesn’t have a window!

I am so glad I only had to experience this hotel once in my lifetime. The whole experience was… terrifying. Now I Like to think I am reasonable and I think it’s quite reasonable to expect that a hotel should NOT terrify it’s visitors. After walking past the arcade after making your way past the odd drunk you come to the entrance of Ramada. The foyer is nothing special and your directed to a lift. This lift is the scariest lift I have ever been in and to make matters worse we were staying the 15th floor-I said a small prayer on the way up. When we got in the room I realised we would have been wiser to locate an nearby office block to camp out in. Downstairs there was tons of building work going on that woke me around 7am. If you are considering staying here I would seriously suggest you find a local travelodge instead. Trust me I would never recommend travellodges unless I did not have good reason(to save you from such a terrible experience)
