Rotana used to be our local for shisha. Since we have left, the owner has changed and the place has been redone. But luckily the rest stayed the same: very good shisha, great peppermint tea and friendly service.

Rotana is another of the shisha bars on Rusholme, and probably one of the nicest looking ones, in that it doesn’t like someone finished painting it and someone else came along and said, «Yeah, it’s good, but it needs more shine!» It’s not the best of the shisha bars inside though, although it remains fairly nice looking and cosy. If you’re new to it all then you’re better off heading somewhere like Shotz or Musicana to learn the tricks of the trade, and if you’re going there there’s little reason to bother coming back here. Good, but not good enough.

A see what you get kind of establishment rotana, doesn’t attempt the overblown fantastic shininess of its competitiors. It’s a nice bar with nice folk, a small spot some may misinterpret this as cramped but I see the other side of the coin as cosy. The staff can help you out if you’re a shisha virgin but don’t expect a flurry of enthusiasm. Rotana isn’t the best place on the curry mile but it’s reasonable and cheap, with a chilled feel.

Never go to this shisha bar, the staff are rude including that guy with the glasses, LOL, he needs to get a life, DDDDUUUUHHHH, He got one of those faces that he cant smile, LOL, and you cant sit for two or three hours like your suppose to cause they rip u off but not puttin enougth tobacco in the shisha. Others shisha places may be not as pretty but they do the job when you want a shisha unlike this place, where probaly a ho-bo could probaly do a better job then those guys

The Rotana Café is an unassuming, unpretentious café in the heart of Rusholme which offers Shisha amongst the other usual café fare. Its interior is quite small and slightly dark, perhaps even a little dingy, but that’s not to suggest it is unhygienic. However, it does little to match the relative ‘ritz’ and ‘glamour’ of its competitor Shisha establishments, but it does what it says on the tin, and that’s one of the more important qualifiers. The staff here are polite and helpful, even for Shisha novices like myself, and although not excessively friendly, they lived up to expectations within their job description. All in all, it’s an alright place to go for a drink or Shisha. It’s by far not the best, but it’s modest and reasonably-priced — of course good for the credit crunch.
