Another late evening curry ordered just after 11pm. Delivered promptly after 45 mins. Mixed kebab didnt come with any dipping sauce however didnt find the need for it as the meats were all well cooked, juciy and oozing with the flavours of the indian spices used in the marinate. For mains we selected a dish called Himalayan Cham Cham, described as a medium heat curry, with coconut and a true taste of the Himalayas. The dish came in a creamy colour with juicy chunks of chicken, bright red dates and other bits of vege n onion. It might have been a little touch brighter than i like but lets get on with the taste. The taste was just not right! It felt like i had just stuck my thumb in my mum’s honey jar. The sweetness put us off from finishing the meal, hence the 2 star rating. I would have happily rated the Mixed Kebab starters for 4 stars with the delivery service otherwise. Would we be back for more? Well maybe but I’m avoiding anything that says«MILD».

Sajna Indian Kitchen is a rather reasonable take-away service on Barlow Moor Road in Didsbury. I’ve ordered a Meat Thali for 2 people from here, and there was so much food, way more than we could eat! Bhajis, Tikka, Papadams to start and Chicken Korma, Lamb Bhuna, Mixed vegetable Dahl and accompaniments for mains. Some of the dishes weren’t the best I’d ever tasted, but overall, it was great value for money at £22 for two. They also do burgers and pizzas, but since the choices are limited ad these items are not this Kitchen’s forte. I’d rather order from a proper pizza house.

As I live so close to this establishment, my housemates and I decided to give it a try on a lazy and hungry Friday night. We opted for their Special Menu for 2 people. This actually fed 4 hungry girls, as it included no less than six different curries plus rice and sides! Got to say the price was pretty amazing, at under 30.00 for 4 people, and they even threw in some free extra popadoms. Quality wise, it’s not the greatest curry you’ll ever experience, but it’s certainly not bad at all. For sheer value for money and variety of dishes, you can’t go far wrong with this deal. The restaurant offers free local deliveries or takeaway. They also serve kebabs, chips, burgers and pizzas for those with a less spicy palate.
