Spirit is not normally the sort of place that, as red blooded male, I would or should visit. However, my beautiful girlfriend bought me a Hot Stones Massage for Valentines Day and who am I turn that down. I can highly recommend this as a relaxing experience, which was needed, taking place as it was just before the Derby. I spent a very nice hour destressing in a relaxing atmosphere whilst the bizarre experience of having hot stones placed on my back took place. The masseuse did not look very pleased when I told her i was straight off to the pub after I had finished, but hey, you can’t win them all.

Spirit is one of those Salons where you feel completely at ease. The staff are brilliant. The guidance and advice about your hair is excellent. No pushy product selling, but if you need advice they are only too willing to suggest prodicts which actually work for your hair. They also offer great advice about what styles actually suit but wont push you into a cut which you wont feel happy with I started going to Spirit 2 years ago — I had been past it a few times and tried it out. I am never going anywhere else!!! Great magazines, chat if you like, not if you don’t. Hair always feels fab — I have never been anywhere where I feel so welcomed and where you can get great cuts/colours and really reasonable priices. Check them out!!!

I’m not a typical girl when it comes to hair. I hate getting my hair cut. However, I had a couple of interviews and a wedding coming up and I hadn’t had my hair cut for at least 6 months. It was time to face the inevitable. I chose this salon purely because it was the first salon that popped up when I searched for hairdressers in Chorlton online. First of all I had my hair washed by a lady(I think she said she was Persian). She even threw in a free head massage, which I started to enjoy after I had relaxed a little. Another lady cut my hair. She asked me the dreaded question. Where did I have my hair cut last? I debated telling the truth and saying that I’d given it a trim in my kitchen, but blamed my wonky barnet on another local salon. She wasn’t too patronising(or too surprised) when I told her I knew nothing about hair. She gave me a couple of choices of styles to go for, and I told her to do whatever she thought would look best. I was dubious when she decided that would be long at the front and short at the back, but it turned out looking really good. Another lady dried my hair whilst the hair cutter wiped the condensation from the shop windows. The cutter then came back and spent a while putting the finishing touches to my do — using girly things that I don’t understand like serum and straighteners. At £30 for a wash, cut and dry with very little patronising chit-chat, this is definitely a salon that I would consider going back to.
