We visited last night great atmosphere and service but i was a bit disappointed with the food available. 2 of the starters were not available and when there is roughly 6⁄7 to choose from this is not great and 1 of the mains was not available think i would of enjoyed it more if you could have whats on the menu or at least be told whats not available before browsing the menu.

I happen to be a rather big fan of the«Grill on the.» Empire, having first checked out the Grill on the Corner in Glasgow. It’s a solid place to have a great steak in a nice chilled, yet upmarket atmosphere. We shared the gin and juniper cured salmon and a couple of oysters to start — both of which were delicious, albeit a tad small on the ouster front. This time I finally had someone with me who enjoyed their steak rare so we went for the chateaubriand which comes accompanied with two portions of delicious fries, French green beans and bearnaise sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection, although there were a little chewy pieces which I’ve never had with that cut before. The service as always was top notch and it’s safe to say that I’ll be back again.

Went here as a meal with work — we decided to go on a Monday as my friend had a card which meant we got 50% off the food! It was the first time we’d all been and booked a table for 6. We all ordered the trio of starters to share between all of us which included crispy squid, chicken skewers and BBQ ribs. It was delicious way to start our meal accompanied by a few bottles of prosecco. Next I opted for the rump steak with a side of peppercorn sauce — it was lovely. I wouldn’t go out of my way to say steak was the best I’ve ever had but it was above average! The only thing that was slightly disappointing was my friends steak was very fatty to the point it was in-edible. We said something to our waitress who passed it on the manager and it was eventually taken off the bill. Overall it was a great place to go(especially with the 50% off!!). I probably won’t be back in a great hurry… But this place is well worth it when you get the 50% off!

Great meal and steaks as usual. I have a black card from the opening of Glasgow and when I was heading to Manchester for a gig, I booked a table here knowing I’d get a great meal. Great fillet steaks, prawn and avocado starter but no desserts as full. Great rhubarb gin cocktails and my dad enjoyed his Koln style beers and fish and chips. Portions are decent so come hungry. Staff are helpful and friendly checking that everything was ok but without being over the top. The Grills are a chain so the décor(dark walls and lighting) are similar to Glasgow but still a lovely venue. Cute outdoor seating for a sunny day too!

I decided to book Grill on New York Street for my birthday and i am so pleased that i did. From the very friendly welcoming staff to the amazing meal. Our waiter was one of the hottest waiters I’ve ever come across and so friendly. I had the Fillet steak which was so tasty. I am also a member of the Blackhouse group and managed to get 40% off for the whole party but make sure to book in advance to get the offer as the tables do go quick! Many thanks to Grill on New York Street for making my Birthday that extra special!

My boyfriend is the type to consistently answer«what do you want to eat?» with«steak». So when it came to taking him out for a birthday meal, the Grill on New York Street was the obvious choice. Having been here before for a Unilocal event, I knew to expect some really good quality grub. We were not disappointed. We had the sharing platter for a starter which was fine, not great. If I went again I wouldn’t order it and would just save room for more steak. It included calamari, fish cakes, chicken skewers, and spring rolls. Nothing stands out in my memory but it was enjoyable to nibble on while chatting. One odd thing was that the chicken came on metal skewers which had obviously just come out from under a grill and so were incredibly hot to touch. It’s great that it comes out hot but surely there is a way to discourage/prevent customers from singing themselves?! On to the main event: the steaks. He knew what he wanted as soon as I told him we were going for steak; I deliberated over my options for a long time. Yet we ended up ordering the same thing: fillet steak and chips. Mine was rare; his medium rare. Both with chips. A side of green beans. No sauces. Simple and yet so perfect. Both steaks were cooked beautifully. The green beans were delicious. He liked the chips while I wasn’t very keen. Overall, the food was excellent though. We eschewed dessert in favour of cocktails, which are just as good when nothing on the dessert menu jumps out at you. Price wise, this place isn’t where you should go if you’re on a tight budget, but it’s not extortionate either. If you get a Blackhouse membership card you can get up to 40% off the food which makes it even more reasonable.
