Having moved to the area leaving behind two of the county’s award winning chippies, you can imagine how happy we were to discover the Blue Wave on our doorstep. The best chips we’ve tasted away from the coast, beautifully crisp batters and tasty fish, great quality meat products, and friendly efficient service, make this fish and chip shop a jewel in Harborough’s fast food crown. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that they don’t do potato fritters. One day I will pluck up the courage to try a deep fried Mars bar — they sound fascinating, and going by everything else they produce, I’m sure they’ll be very tasty.

This is a cracking little chippie that consistently serves fresh hot chips that are as good as you could ask for.
You can sit in, but since there are only 2 tables you have to be lucky to get one, but we often enjoy sitting down with a plate of chips and a cup of tea.
They also do a terrific version of that famed Scottish delicacy, the deep fried Mars Bar!
