This self-service vegetarian restaurant/café offers delicious and imaginative recipes, including vegetarain, vegan and gluten-free options. I had the pumpkin and apple casserole on rice, although it was available with roast potatoes and baked vegetables for the same price. The quality of the food and the size of the portions were excellent — especially the apple crumble and custard! They are licensed and sell small bottles of wine — enough for two glasses to accompany a meal. The reason for only giving three stars is that, despite the high quality of the food, the prices were very high and the service average. The staff were rather frosty and unhelpful, and the style of the café is rather basic. When one is paying nearly £30 for a meal for two, one expects better surroundings and more courtesy — or even a smile and a hello! Such a shame when the food is so scrumptious.
