Home Bargains is a great shop! It’s outside the Hill Street in between New Look and Argos, pretty hard to miss with it’s big bold red and blue frontage. And as it’s such a great shop, it’s not hard to forget either lol. Anyway if you enter and look to the left you can see the best bargains of the bunch — the bargains of the week though in this shop it’s pretty hard to not call anything a bargain. The first aisle is all your bathroomy and health products — good stop for toothpaste I find, the toys are at the back, good little place for stocking fillers and then the otheraisles are divided between home ware, stationary, drinks and food. One point to consider is that when you’re going to home bargains, each shop within the chain can vary slightly in what they sell. But on the other side, the prices are brilliant, they regularly sell 3 bottles of pepsi or 4 cartons of ribena for a £1 and I went in the other day to find they were selling 10 chocolate magic elves for 50p, I almost cried with delight — I love those things! And I promptly left with 20 of them. The staff aren’t always that friendly probably because they have to put up with a lot and it’s always busy so they’re always rushed off their feet.

This is a brilliant shop for bargains(as the name suggests!). It’s located just next to Argos, and opposite Sainsbury’s, on the very edge of the main town centre. I only have one small niggle with the location, and that’s the fact that it’s on the outside, so if you park in the upstairs car park(which sadly I had to do last week as there was no room left in the downstairs open air section), you have to make a conscious effort to walk outside(away from the rest of the shops) to get to Home Bargains. Sadly, because it was in completely the opposite direction, I just forgot to call in last time, and wanted to kick myself when I drove past it on my way out of the car park! Anyway, niggles aside, it’s a brilliant shop. They have a good selection of toys, always significantly cheaper than anywhere else. They also sell a good range of household products, kitchenware and bedding, also things like washing up liquid and washing conditioner — all at really good prices. They stock a good range of cheap gifts, and always have cheap food — nothing fresh, but they do stock tinned food, biscuits, coffee, crisps, that sort of thing. Often they are a bit closer to their sell by dates than you may get in the major supermarkets, but they are still within the dates and much cheaper, so it’s definitely worth a look! Recommended!

Home baragins is located in the dundas archade. This store is dated and often smelly funny. Has a good selection of childrens toys but thats about it. Would not recommend to shop here for anything else and it is located in an unpopular shopping arcade.

I love home bargains, it is located just on the outside of the Hill Street shopping centre. It sells everything from deodorants, to towels, to gifts sets to toys to food, crisps and alcohol. All at highly discounted prices to what you’d pay else wear. I often get shampoo and Conditioner in here for the same price I’d pay for one in Boots, exactly the same brands, quantities etc. There is usually only one or two people on the till which can be very annoying as by the tills it is quite cramped. I would deffinatly check if something’s in here first before spending a lot more else where though as everything you get in here is a bargain.

I love this shop — it is full of exactly what it suggests — home bargains! It stocks toiletries, toys, cards, cleaning products, confectionary and some food and also a small range of alcohol. You can never be guaranteed that the same thing will come into stock again so if you see something on good offer then it’s best to stock up. Lots of handy car parking as on the outside of the Hill Street Centre.
