We had a family wedding here in April 2012. I felt that it was very expensive to begin with(cannot understand how the £60 per head gap could be accounted for between our wedding and a Masonic Ladies Night with exactly the same menu! No discount for kids and all the extras came at a huge price too. Unfortunately, you cannot go and look for another venue when all the invites have gone out! Food was good, and I have to take my hat off to Lambros and Michele who run the kitchen military style. But plates were whisked away when people had not finished, and in some cases, returned to their table to find that their dinner/dessert had been cleared away, so be warned, finish you meal when placed in front of you and then get up! There were too many at our function and my experience tells me that unless you can seat your guests on round tables, go elsewhere. Many of our guests were seated on rectangular tables which meant that those with their backs to the wall had a good view of the room, could hear speeches and watch the dancing etc, but could not get out of their chairs without getting others to stand up and let them out! Whilst those facing the walls, could only see those in front of them and the walls, and as the chairs are very heavy, most found that the effort of turning round was almost impossible, so they missed whatever was happening on the dance floor, be they speeches or dancing or watching the entertainer perform. In addition, the kitchen being small, the rubbish had to be taken out frequently, and so staff with rubbish bags came through the hall and up the stairs(which is also in the hall) and out a back door to the rear of the premises all evening. Each time this happened, guests were subjected to blasts of cold air from the outside. The same happened to guests seated by the kitchen; each time the kitchen door was opened, either to serve or to take back the dirty dishes, cold air from the kitchen’s powerful air conditioning unit blasted those seated close to the open kitchen door. This happened on a frequent enough basis to cause added irritation and discomfort to guests seated on rectangular tables. We had 150 guests too many for the premises, and when, one week later, we were there again for a Masonic Ladies Night, where there were 120 guests, we were seated on a rectangular table next to the kitchen and experienced first hand what we had subjected our guests to on the night of our wedding. I was thoroughly appalled and felt that I had to apologise to those of my guests who were on long tables for the discomfort they experienced throughout the evening and wrote to every single one of them. I think a maximum number for the Apollonia is 100.

This restaurant started out, I thought, as a Greek restaurant. A few years ago I went with friends and discovered that they were offering a fusion of interesting foods on their menu. More recently, a family member booked this restaurant for a birthday party and it was a fantastic evening. The food was wonderful and the surroundings were delightful.
