We visited Mullions on a sunny January day and lots of places were still closed, so we’ll done to this place for realising that winter visitors still need a decent place to eat and drink. We were getting peckish and Keith wanted a cream tea before we left the West Country and I wanted a glass of wine so we needed somewhere offering food that had a bar too, as I said, with so many places still closed for the winter our choices were limited and I’m sure we would have dismissed mullions if we were there in the summer. I am so glad we came here, it’s a really friendly welcome, a massive menu offering everything from fish and chips to moussaka to cream tea and with a well stocked bar, the Pinot Grigio I had was beautiful, Keith had scones hot from the oven, it’s all about timing! With clotted cream and jam, a shame really because when his cream tea arrived I asked for a menu and was given the daytime menu, available until 6pm a dinner menu, available from 6pm and a specials menu, I wish we had waited an hour and had dinner there. The host was happily chatting to some other customers about his life, business the universe and everything under the sun, a really friendly chap who told me that food is available all day. Locally sourced food, and freshly made scones, this place has a great menu, and a lovely cosy feel, so ignore the strange artex walls, dine on the patio or inside and just concentrate on the lovely food. The lavatory was in need of a bit of attention, but clean and with baby changing facilities and nappy bags provided.
