Established in 1846 and still in the family. It was nice to be in an independent shop that has family values. Staff were very pleasant and you got the feeling that they were trying to assist rather than sell. A myriad of good quality wares on sale with some great displays. Tea was satisfactory and the tea cakes very nice.

I always enjoy a visit to Rutherfords whenever we have a day out in Morpeth. There is plenty to see and buy and we always have a bite to eat, however I would like to point out that the quality of the tea is insipid not in keeping at all with the presentation and menu on offer. I regret to say that this would most definately put me off on our next visit as there are plenty of other tea rooms to choose from.
