We visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration with family and friends as i had heard good things from others about the restaurant. I booked in advance and they were very helpful over the phone. We arrived at the restaurant to find our table wasn’t ready from the party before us, which we didn’t mind, except for the fact that there wasn’t anywhere to wait as the restaurant is very small, so we were in the way for a while! Once showed to the table everything was going well, until the waitress(who I later discovered is the owner of the restaurant!!) was very rude to us whilst taking our order. She was impatient with questions about the food, and then proceeded to complain that everyone in our party hadn’t turned up(I explained that this was due to 3 people falling ill that afternoon, however there were still 14 people in our party, so I didn’t see this as a problem!) The waitress stated that they could have fit extra customers in if i had let them know, but the restaurant wasn’t even full as it was! I found it extremely rude of her to bring this up with me in this way! We than waited nearly an hour for our meals to arrive, and for the price, many of our party were un-impressed with the quality of the meals. For example, one person had a beef salad at the cost of £15, and it was definitely nothing special. Also a few people tried the game pie off the specials menu, and stated the meat was tough and they couldn’t tell game from beef! Unfortunately I have to say I wouldn’t return, the majority of our meals were lovely, but the cost of them, paired with the long wait and the rudeness of the staff definitely puts me off returning!
