I am always harping on about their hot baguettes. And rightly so, because they are great. Peppered steak is my favourite, but Cajun chicken is an old flame. They are very filling, but nice enough that you want another one straight away. One day I might do this. It would certainly resolve the peppered steak/cajun chicken debacle. The people who run it are very friendly too. They won’t have any of your nonsense. The stall is in the market, on the corner by Savers, so it’s great to pop into while waiting for a train, but if you’re new to Neath, you can have a look round the rest of the market while they cook your baguette. Cole’s do a load of other stuff too, ham, pies, roast dinners to take away, roast chicken, rissoles, faggots. I suppose it is a deli rather than a carvery. There is also some sort of corned beef pie with an egg in it. I don’t know what this is called, but I also saw it in Sainsbury’s in Alperton recently so it’s not as strange as I initially thought. I used to go here for me dindins when I worked round the corner in a greengrocers, slaving away for pennies. It was the highlight of my shift. I try to go there whenever I’m in the area, but I am usually only around in the evening when the market is closed.
