Entering the darkness of Newbury Snooker Hall you are transported into a Gentleman’s club, reminiscent of smokey days gone past where men would enjoy a beer and a game of snooker to past the time. Now the bar is still there. there are around 24 snooker tables and a few pool tables but all that remains is the residue of the smokey atmosphere. Newbury Snooker Halls used to be members only, but they do allow non-member to play for a £5 deposit which is taken into consideration in the final bills. A table is chosen and a set of balls given allowing you to wander off any attempt to beat your partner. There is a seperate league room with 4 tables of slightly better cloth quality which we generally use, as they allow for a fairer game, but these are slightly more expensive than the normal tables, and unavailable if a game is being played. Limited parking is outside(dependant on timing), but the HMV car park(payable) us just around the corner.
